Accessory Gauge Wiring
So I'm just about ready to hook up the discreet oil temp & oil pres gauges I've installed and I have a couple of questions to see if I can get some input on. I'm going to need power and ground which I figured I'd tap off the fuse block. The sensors are fairly straight forward too. It's the lighting that concerns me and the CANBUS that these cars operate with.
Can I tap into one of the dash or center pod wires that provide switched/dimmed lighting without the car throwing a code?
Or is there a tap on the fuse block that's switched/dimmed lighting perhaps to use?

There is no light switch...no 12 volt circuit. It is all software based. That is why the dimmer switch panel to the left of the steering wheel only has 3 wires going to it. Mine has 2 sets of light switches a 4 position switch for the main headlamps and the dimmer....3 wires and a massive circuit board! Not for the faint of heart....

Just received my boost gauge and will install it in a few days...
Does anyone knows if the fog lights switch is dimmed and ok to tap in?
Or should I extend to the fusebox, fuse #52 seems to be the one to choose from what I've read so far?

I connected constant power and ignition to the fuse box. For constant power, I used a fuse tap in slot #87. For ignition I used a fuse tap in slot #50. For my gauge light, I connected to ignition because the LED would flicker if I connected to the instrument panel cluster. Therefore, my gauge light is always on.
