First of all Thanks for the thread i have been able to program my car with the 49 datens.
My question is what is in the DATEN that i need to upgrade or why would i need to upgrade my daten files when I can program with a lower version daten.
Thanks again for the information. Now i am going to move on to my e70(Anyone know where i could find those datens )

If you were to have you car programmed with the latest version, a v49 Daten set would no longer properly interact with your vehicle.
This is why we try so hard to keep current with these, even being as hard as it is.

Just got my car back from the dealership to fix an issue with my power windows and it looks like they put a newer version of the software on my 2011 CM. All my NCS Expert mods are gone and my display in my tach now no longer shows the trip odometer all the time like it used to, like the newer CMs.
So I hop in, plug the laptop in to redo everything and I get a "chassis is faulty" message. I try to update the datens to the 50.2 on this thread and still no joy. I reinstall the software, and start from scratch and still get the "chassis is faulty" message.
It's driving me nuts, because all these little things I've coded out years ago are now all bothering me again (bulb warnings, pass airbag warnings, when i put my phone on the seat, all my doors not unlocking when the ignition is off...)
Any ideas? I didn't have a problem coding it before... I feel like it's gotta be something simple I'm missing.

Off to the garage to see if I have better luck! I'll let you know!

I cleared the daten folder before I copied the new datens.
Got it working though. Did a actual uninstall, restart, install instead of just reinstalling NCS Expert and that seemed to do the trick. 45 mins later and all my settings are back! Even a few new ones
The only thing I can't figure out how to change is on the tach display, below where the speed readout is, it used to show the odometer AND the trip counter at the same time, but with the new software, all I get is the odometer and a bunch of blank space. Is there a way to revert back to the old layout?

Lock Speed To Center Tach Display
DIG_SPEED_PERMANENT
aktiv -- (set nicht_aktiv for TIME / TEMP as with older models)
#924
No, that changes the upper display to show time/temp instead of speed. I think WIPER_STAT_DISP is the setting to bring back the trip odo. (But lose the auto wiper indicator)
#925
Hmmm, try it out and let me know, I wouldn't mind that. Although, I do have to admit, the old way of showing the auto wipers were on was confusing.
