Electrical Countryman-Specific Coding - R60 Guide
Steven
Hi
I have 2011 CM All4 Cooper S
Can you please give me a ebay link for the cable.
Most of them are 1998 - 2008
For example is this suitable?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/INPA-Ediabas-K-D-CAN-DCAN-USB-Interface-OBD2-EOBD-Diagnostic-Tool-Cable-For-BMW-/271233002529?pt=US_Adapters&hash=item3f26bf2c21
I read the thread begining,
Is it possible to close side mirrors when lock the doors and open when unlock the doors?

Probably it won't work. It must be clearly stated, that it supports models above 2009. THere were many threads about correct cable - what should be a color of the electronics inside, etc. Best filter is the fact, the cable for 1009+ models is the more expensive one, so look for smoething above $60, like this:

Chipper cables simply wont work, and no PIN soldering wont help to work. I went though this and waste money for the chipper one and ended up with more expensive, which simply works.

Cheap cables work if you know what you are looking for.

Which cable do I need to buy?
Get the cable off of ecutools. It works with no problems and is around $30.
Warning about ecutools:
ecutools used to be the guaranteed place to get the proper cable but a fellow NAMer ordered from them recently and received the kind with the wrong board. He reported that returning it was a PITA.
I did order my cable from them about a year ago, it was $30 plus $30 in shipping (comes from Asia via DHL and arrived in about 3 days) and have had no issues.

Does anyone know how to activate VIM without a CIC module? I have a 2012 R60 with Connected, no NAV, and I don't have a CIC module and am not able to find anything from doing extensive web searches on how to setup video in motion unless I have a CIC module.
CIC is only for BMW not for MINI.
I can play videos off of my Ipod Touch 4G, but as soon as the car starts to move, a warning message pops up over the video and doesn't let me watch, I can still hear the audio and the movie is still playing, there is just a black box with a warning message completely covering the video that is playing.
I have the laptop and can help, but not sure if I want to be liable if anything goes wrong. I've only coded mine and that's it. So far it's good ha ha. What year is yours?
PM sent. I have the cables and a laptop but lack the mental capacity to figure the coding out
The China eBay worked with me and said they would send me a new cable. Today I got the cable and tried again. The cable on the left (green board) was the original and INPA would not connect at all. The new cable on the right (white board) does connect to my laptop in INPA showing Battery and Ignition and "ON" with FOB in and one push car on.
NCSEXPERT still will not connect. Referencing https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...7-post954.html
I tried both updating the COAPI.INI and using the old one which (not overwriting it)
The old one gives VIN error and the new gives CHASSIS Faulty error.
Is the cable still the problem or my software? Should I ask the China eBay guy for a refund or is this user error?

Code:
ERROR! Its a pure problem with cable. White circuitboards works with mini up to 2008. Green works with my CM 2013. The previous one was correct but faulty. The New one will not work. Your SW is probably OK. My simple tip os to choose cable above $80. Maybe it's not a rule, but generally those one works.
Thanks I will ask for eBay refund then. Don't think I'm going any further. Throwing away $80 for cable after cable for trial and error is not good. I took this chance since I wasn't worried about less than $20.
