Rear fog lites as brake lites?

Is there a way to wire the rear fog lites so they work in tandem with the brake lites, but can still be used as fog lites? Is it an "either-or" thing? Just want everyone to know I'm on the brakes, LoL. Thanks.

You would have to add some wiring and diodes to make this work. But I believe it is possible.

The only thing I would worry about is when you are using the rear fogs then only the brake lights would work, and that is when you really want the extra light from what yo are trying to accomplish, or at least that is how I see it.

With the normal brake lights and the third brake light IMHO there should be enough light to make the person behind you notice you are "on the brakes".
it the do not see that then they probably are not looking and would not see the extra light from the fogs as brake lights either. But of course that is just my opinion.

The GoMiniGo kit does the either/or function: http://gominigo.com/BLK-MINI.html
Electrically it only requires adding a couple of diodes.

Thanks a bunch RKW! Will get on the horn to them today. I'm the cautious type, would turn the whole rear end into a particle laser if I could, LoL.

That kit will not work on your car... it is for an '02 through '04. After 04 the rear brake lights and fogs were a totally different set up.

You need to scroll further down the GoMiniGo webpage.

Read their whole add. The kit I ordered is specifically for the '07+ MCS.

Not sure why you need to have the fogs switched, because 99% of the time your Headlights are on with fogs anyway

I did this using LED Foglights, and it worked perfectly...the LEDs can handle the Parking as well as Brake Light brightness

I didnt use the the wiring kits, i just wired them directly. I used the below PDF file for direct wiring. The only thing you have to make sure that the polarity for the LED fogs are correct, however its easy to tell. If the polarity is wrong, hey wont work and just reverse the 2 wires.
