Is possible retrofit the voice control on a JCW with MFSW cruise + radio controls and navi?
How mucth it cost?

We need more information on what you car is I.E. year, model, packages, options etc. from there we can help you get an answer to your question.

Upgrading some of these things changes depending on what options you have.

 

My "baby" is a JCW Factory (11/2008) with navi, hi-fi upgrade, bluetooth, cruise control, pdc and MFSW with cruise and radio control...

 

Okay now the question is what do you want to "voice control"?

it already exists to voice control dial you phone if your phone 1. supports voice dialing and 2. it is on the list of phones that works for voice dialing.

As you have the NAV your phone voice dialing is much better than those that do not have NAV.

 

I'd like dial number or call a contact in my iPhone 3Gs connect via bt..
Is possible?? How??

 

I don' care to control the navi or other things like radio or cd..

I know you're interested only in iPhone, but are you missing voice control completely, even for Nav?

Actually the iPhone (fw 3.0) DO NOT support the voive control via BT..
but the new release 3.1 will support it!!!

But many people have reported that the iPhone (with different firmware versions) that it voice dials.

So is yours not working? Does the voice control of NAV work?

If not is there a microphone in the overhead console? and if there is it connected?

 

No the voice control of the iPhone works only with the earphone cable.
previus fw version like 2.2.1 DO NOT HAVE the voce control!

I've the nav but NOT the voice contol (i don't chose that option when i' bought the car..)
so I decide to retrofit it (see the title ;-))

 

The code number for the voice control function is 620. (for the 07 mini )

 

I thought voice control is automatically included with Nav, and that's the way it is listed on the MINIUSA website. Voice control is not shown as a separate option. The built-in iPhone voice control has nothing to do with the MINI voice control. It is the MINI system that interprets the voice and sends the appropriate commands over Bluetooth. The compatibility chart given previously lists voice control working since the 1st gen iPhone.

FYI, you may be right. I just looked at my order detail sheet and the nav code was 609 with the Voice activation code 620 (no charge). when I got the car the voice control was not operating. when I returned the car to the dealer and told them about it they had it working in no time. I think it was simple programming. If you paid for the NAV you automatically get the VC.

 

As the NAV unit is the same for all NAV Configurations, this is probably just a programing error. As rkw says check with you dealer to have it activated.

As for the iPhone. There are many people out there with 2.2.1 or lower that have the iPhone voice dialed by their cars, not just MINI's so there has to be a way to do it thru bluetooth.

Here in Italy the navi and voice control are NOt sold together..
But.. when I've made my order I've not selected the voice control option (code 620).. so...
The retrofit is only a software upgrade or an hardware upgrade?

As there is no voice control box it is probably a software only issue. The only thing i can think of is that the Microphone may be missing. It is located in the roof console whcih comes off very easily. There is a thread here somewhere on how to move the microphone, check it out and you can see for your self if there is a microphone in the car.

 

Yes I've the microphone for the bluetooth (that I've already moved on the left side).
So... only software upgrade is needed?

 

In the USA that is how it is. In Italy it i most likely the same but i can not be 100% positive. You will have to check with the dealer on what they need to do to add option 620 to your car.
