Pics of Stewart Warner Gauges/ALTA Pods installed

Finally took pics of my setup. About as factory looking as you could possibly get, in my opinion.

The stock bulbs are white with green and red shrouds that make them . . . well, green or red. I have replaced them with amber 12v bulbs and they are an exact match. I'lll shoot some photos tonight.

Very Nice. Are these the competition series and what are the model # of these gauges? Was the install difficult?

Looks like factory guages to me. I have an R 56 as well and I'd really like to install the boost and EGT. Do you know if Stewart Warner makes the EGT in your product line?

Cheers!

Yes, Competition Series. The water temp is the electric gauge Part Number: 114273 http://www.sw-performance.com/index....tails&p=114273

The boost/vac gauge is mechanical and is Part Number: 114380 http://www.sw-performance.com/index....tails&p=114380

I bought them on Ebay from Summit Racing which contained everything I need except the 18-gauge wiring and tapping-connectors. I also bought the ALTA MAS adaptor for the boost tubing. The black plastic nipple of the ALTA adaptor unscrews and the Stewart Warner tubing attachment part screws into its place.

There are Exhayst Gauges here: http://www.sw-performance.com/products/CTGExhaustTemp

for boost - any extra parts to buy?

for water temp - where did you mount the temp senser?

for both - the pod comes with the gauge?

Other than the boost MAF adaptor I mentioned above, the only extra parts for boost and water are the 18-gauge wires and wire taps. The boost gauge comes with a grommet for when you drill a hole in the firewall. I tapped the water temp sensor into the coolant tank like the ALTA water temp sensor. The pods were ordered separately. Be sure to get the adaptor rings from Alta (they are actually silicone tubing cut to size and work great).

If you purchase the gauge pod/gauge combos from us, EVERYTHING is included in the package. Wire ties, wire, t-taps, Crimps, Gauge, Boost/Vacuum adapter, pod, decals etc.

On our gauges, the water temp sensor mounts into the coolant tank on the core support.

Hope that helps!

Adam, the bubble stickers that came with the pods are a burnt-orange color. Do you have them in true red? If so, can you send me a couple to put on the sides of the pods? Do you still have my contact info?

Adam .. if we want to do your kit but with the Stewart Warner guages... can you make that happen? You have to admit... that's pretty damn good close to stock looking. Not sure anyone could do better.

Shouldn't be a problem. Just ring me or Christina up at 503-222-MINI and have a copy of the receipt on hand. Shouldn't be an issue at all. Sorry for the problem.

Thanks for asking. If you want the SW gauges, you can simply purchase the pods and boost adapter from us, then get the gauges at the retailer of your choice. Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but the SW gauges are mechanical and I don't feel comfortable selling those to clients due to the risks involved in cases of oil and boost passing through the firewall. But I can say lots of people do use those styles.

Hope that helps! Thanks again!
