Has anyone installed H8 HID's?

I was wondering if anyone has installed H8 HID's to replace the fog lights on your R56? Im thinking of installing some, but not sure if that's going to be to bright or how it would look, should I just buy HID look-a-like bulbs or and HID kit? Pics anyone?

I've been thinking of doing 3000k (yellow) hids in my foglights... i just dont know about it yet lol. The only issue with normal color HIDs will be matching the same hue, projectors and reflectors tend to not match very well. In either case, mounting looks like it would be fun, theres not a TON of space down there but enough.

Have fun,
Josh

Hey, I switched both bulbs in the fogs to "hid" bulbs. I used the H8 Noyka Artic White bulbs. I noticed a big difference. When driving they are not much brighter but much whiter. Also SUPER hot, I have 3M on my fogs and they are bubbling because of the heat. But whatever I dont really care, they are bright and safe from cracking.

ps. I have photos in my sig. below under MINI WIP.

The two light bulbs in the foglights are 194 TOP and H8 BOTTOM. I put the PIAA Xtreme White Light Bulbs 194's on the top. They arent as bright/white as the Noyka's, but they look much better than stock.

Those aren't HID then; HID's are a lower wattage and run cooler...
You have just like HID bulbs.

Yes those lamps that you installed are 55watt Halogen in an application that is designed for 35 watt. IMO,you will probably over time end up burning up the lampholder.

Abso-freakin-lutely.
If you can find an honest HID kit, it will be 35w and produce the same lumens as a 120w halogen.
Get a Japanese kit, not Chinese...
Be prepared to pay though. Good HID retrofit kits are still pricey. A crappy kit will be about $200.
