Aftermarket alarms?

I'm in need of an alarm. I bought the cheapest one circuit city had,, havent installed it yet,, wondering if there was an alarm that synced to the stock keyless entry from mini? Or in general which alarm gives the most for the lowest dollar?

Thanks

Use an OEM alarm.

Trying to hook up an aftermarket alarm to these cars either will cause more of a headache than good, or not work at all.

OEM alarm is $225 retail according to the dealer and should be really simple to install. Installing an aftermarket alarm in this car is a BAD idea, it already has starter kill and no keyhole... the stock alarm has a radar sensor in it to monitor the interior. Honestly, stock alarm is the only way to go.....

Where can one get the OEM alarm? My MA, as is typical, claims to know nothing about it.

Same here,, hawaii is last on minis list of places to get updates. Do you have a part number that mini of hawaii can order?

I'd just call some of the Mini dealers on the mainland and see how much it is to ship the alarm. There are a couple dealers who are sponsors here.

Not sure if it's the same with Mini, but after installing a BMW alarm, the dealer needs to activate the alarm. Sometimes they do it for free if it's during a scheduled service, others will charge 1/2 hour labor.
