How do you get the jack out of the bottle without breaking it? I assume you mean the sort of jack you use to change a flat??

If you mean the sort of Jack that comes in a square bottle, you can't throw a dead cat in any direction without finding some sort of establishment that can set you up.

Save the Date - July 13

Our MINI friend Janis, from the Central Iowa MINI group, is inviting all EIM folks to a summer party at her house in Des Moines on July 13. Lunch at noon and festivities to follow. More information will be forthcoming.

Free Refreshments

Steve, the owner of Performance Concepts in Cedar Rapids is going to provide up to $100 worth of refreshments at an EIM event as thanks for MINI business we have sent his way. If anyone has an idea of when we should take him up on his offer, let me know

So when I was in Chicago recently at a Cubs game (not at Wrigley ) the opposing losers were selling chances for the following "prize"

Go ahead, laugh with me.

I am considering making the trip but am wondering if anyone from the East has put together any type of logistics on travel dates, start times and return times. Im 4 hours to get to to the east side of Iowa.

Here's what we know so far:

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ld-record.html

Still waiting to hear from MINI on their hints about a cross-Iowa caravan.

...right down to the tire chirps.

That little blue MINI on the screen had quite an adventurous journey.

Thanks for sharing!

I'm glad you liked it!

We were on a couple of other roads that were more challenging, but not so famous. There's nothing quite like going too fast into a 180 hairpin switchback

Something tells me there might have been a little scolding from Mrs. 'bear immediately after that right-hander at the 5:14 mark of the video...

No scolding occurred. Mama Bear was not protesting at all. However, she did not ask for another run. We took the Cherohala Skyway instead -- in rain and fog

I witnessed my first case of OCHD (obsessive compulsive Harley disease) yesterday. A run with a couple hundred bikes stopped in town. A few were parked in front of my house. I watched a couple get off of a full dressed Harley. He opened one saddle bag and his passenger got out her purse. He then went to the 2nd saddle bag where he pulled out a spray bottle and rag. He then spent 10 minutes cleaning his faring and windscreen. It reminded me of someone but I just can't quite put my finger on just who it was.....

OCHD?, I thought that was normal. I clean my bike if its got bugs on the windshield and I clean the Mini if it has bugs. I always thought that is what normal people did. Peggy on the other hand wouldn't notice something like that unless she couldn't see out the windshield. I consider her abnormal and she says it gives me something to do.

Countryman

Any EIM folks have a Countryman yet? The temptation to put one next to the 05 S is getting very strong.

Let's see...I know that CateBirk, ball, FiremanMike, RACobbs, and stickergal105 own them, as well as a few other EIM couples that don't have a presence on NAM. In fact, FiremanMike has the very first R60 All4 sold in Iowa.

Officially retiring the "wintertime" chat thread for the season.

Let's hope this warm weather thread lives up to its billing.

We did it, officially a his and hers Mini family. We brought home a 2012 Surf Blue Countryman All4 last week...Seems to be getting along fine in the garage with the 05 S.
