World Record?
Hi Folks,
I'm Rus from the Chicago Mini Motoring Club (CMMC) and I hope you don't mind me posting here. I was just wondering if any of you were going to join in the world record attempt for the longest parade of Mini's (goal is over 1450). The parade is across the Mackinac Bridge in Michigan. Mini's on the Mack.
There are more details here: https://www.facebook.com/events/521093454613906/ and also on the CMMC site here: http://chicagominiclub.com/2013/05/0...save-the-date/
If you are interested in going and driving up with some of your Chicago friends, please let me know and I'll help arrange it. Again thanks for letting me post here and I hope to see you.

Rus, thanks for the post. We'll probably end up using this thread you started to coordinate all of our MINIs on the Mack planning.
I was just contacted yesterday by the Central-West MINI Area Manager for MINI USA, who informed me that there's some sort of semi-official caravan being planned for folks coming from points west (Des Moines, Omaha, etc.). Not yet sure what exact route they plan on taking, but the final route they choose will probably have an impact on the number of folks who join in or perhaps would rather slip over and hook up with the Chicago folks.
We don't know yet the numbers of MINIs EIM will be contributing but I'm guessing there will be some level of interest.
We'll try to stay in touch and keep you posted. Thanks again for touching base.
---
The multi-day Event Calendar entry for this event doesn't have an RSVP capability, so please post up here in the thread if you know you're going. That way we'll know to look out for you and can give MINI USA and the event organizers an idea of our numbers. Thanks!

For those of us who are heading up on Friday and would like to travel in company, what do you think of the idea of a 9:30 am rendezvous at MINI of Madison?
According to G-Maps it's about 7 hours from Madison up to St. Ignace. At a conservatively brisk pace, even with stops for lunch, fuel, and biological necessities we should arrive in time to make the advertised Friday evening registration opportunity.
Here's the suggested location: http://goo.gl/maps/tnDee
Does that sound doable?

Hi everyone, Coalvalleyers reservations are at Comfort Inn Beachfront, St Ignace which is walking distance from Holiday Inn Exp. Is there anyone from the EIM Club that would care to Motor to Mich. together? I live in the Quad Cities area. Gary, meeting in Madison sounds good to us, but it would still be nice to motor together up to Mini of Madison!

It is only an hour and a half drive from Dubuque to the MINI dealer in Madison. Why so early?

While you're on the subject, I seem to recall you stating that you'd already located some candidate car wash locations. Have any address information you can share? Inquiring minds want to know.

Car Washes
The two car washes I had in mind were in Mackinaw City... I'll have to revisit that in St. Ignace.

Hi Mike... Yeah, the more the merrier. We tentatively will be meeting at 6:30 AM right off 151 before you go over the river. There is a Wendy's and Gas Station there. You can't miss it. Anyway, that's the plans for now. Are you coming to the Ice Cream, car wash and Casino EIM event July 20th. We will be discussing more then.
