Seems appropriate for me to wake this thread back up from my present location, currently at 39,000 ft altitude somewhere between Baltimore and Minneapolis with the outside air temp in the neighborhood of - 62F (WI-FI on modern aircraft is a wonderful thing...). Should be a nice drive home from the Twin Cities tonight. I cheated and put the winter wheels/tires on earlier this week so I'm ready for whatever Ol' Man Winter throws our way.

Anyway, seems like a good excuse to post up here and wish all of my dear MINI friends a very Happy Thanksgiving!

 

Awesome! So first thing first. I have some WONDERFUL news. With the fact that Willis auto campus obtaining the MINI franchise, we Iowans now have a MINI dealer to call our own. Not only that but we now have an "insider" there at Willis Auto Campus!!!! I have been offered a position working at MINI and my girlfriend (Britney) was offered a position in Des Moines as well. That is the reason we could not attend the final meet at Balltown. We will be moving over to Des Moines in the first part of December. I can not wait!! What a way to kick-start this old thred back up huh..

 

OMG! Congratulations!! I don't know if I am more excited for you and Britney or the rest of us! So happy for all of us

The latest issue of Our Iowa magazine came in the mail yesterday. Had to check out the new clue for finding the hidden MINI Cooper key. Interestingly, I think the first three clues are identical to the last contest (could that mean it's under a picnic table again?). Also nice to see that Winneshiek County is still in the running.

Another thing -- there is a full page add in there from Willis Auto Campus focusing on the impending opening of MINI of Des Moines. Someone must think that the magazine's reader base represents a good potential market for MINI buyers.
