I just installed the Alta Intercooler V2 and I ran into a problem.

First, my car was idling pretty high, from 1000-2000rpm. Now, my SES light is on.

Has anyone else ran into this problem?

I would double check all your connections and make sure all your plugs are connected. Have you checked what code you have?

First of all, I apologize that I did not update this; I had totally forgotten I had posted here.

Second, the problem was fixed. After some Google searches and scrambling under my hood, I believe it was one of the sensors that got too close to the radiator. I believe that sensor was some kind of temperature sensor that caused my engine to idle high.

Thank you.

CAIs are on sale this month for about $40 off. Each month they tend to have different sales. Most holidays they have great sales too. Memorial Day just passed and was a 20% off. I think July 4th will be the next big one, but I'm just a customer, not a representative. So don't quote me.

Right on! Glad to hear you are enjoying it. That and the pulley are my fave mods to an R53.

I installed my Alta CAI (no inlet hose) tonight and it went very well. Car sounds great, though I haven't had a chance to test acceleration as it has been raining. Install was easy (just a bit tight in some spots). My only complaints were that there was a TON of excess oil (did BP sell you guys your filters?) that was a pain to clean off. The only other one (minor) was I think the part on the new shroud where the filter mounts (the round part) should be even 1/4"-3/8" longer to ensure a good clamp on there. Everything seemed tight and secure but I will be checking on it periodically to make sure the filter is still on. Everything seemed to fit quite well, so no big complaints

Well we thought we would help with the gulf cleanup by mopping up the oil with the filters!

Honestly they come preoiled from the mfr. some are simply more heavily oiled than others. It should have been noted in the instructions to remove as much of the oil as possible prior to install. But yeah it can be a bit much.

I'll look at the mount too.

Thanks for the business and the feedback!

Well. Last night I installed my Alta R53 CAI I purchased on Memorial day. Working in retail, I realize the R53 items are sort of in a state of "clearance", where production will continue until sales dwindle enough to make them not viable to produce/sell anymore. So really feedback isn't really viable, but i will say how it went.

It started off well enough. The upper Air Box fit on top of the lower section well. Holes were lined up well. Got everything screwed on. I tried to attach the Silicone hose without knowing i had to put it on sideways and twist it around to fit the box. So after a long time of trying to get it on oriented directly backward with no luck. Mind you, this whole time i was being attacked by a Horse Fly, which wasn't helping my frustration level. I finally gave up and reattached the stock air hose. Which was a very tight fit on the Alta Air box outlet.

Well,That's about it. For those of you wondering, I did kill that Horse Fly.... And then proceeded to smash it a few more times, just to make sure. Teach him......

While it was not perfect, Nothing these days is. I am overall happy about the product I purchased. The sound difference is absolutely phenomenal. My gas mileage for the next few weeks is definitely going to drop.
I will eventually go back and install the Silicone hose. Probably once I Install the OCC I plan to order as soon as I can. Hopefully you don't run out before I get the chance.

Alta decal looks great on my window, and not even 1 bubble under it. =)

Thanks for the narrative and business! On the inlet hose, it can be a bit of a bugger, but they do fit well. I always put the end on the T/B first and snug (not tight) the clamp. Then pry it toward the front, slip the fresh air tube into the lower box (snap), then put the top of the hose on the ALTA air box. If the alignment is off a bit, then I can rotate the tube either way and then fully secure both clamps.

Glad you are happy overall but I want that hose on there!!

Finally, we are NOT abandoning the R53 market at ALL! Even got a few new items in store soon. A few items have dropped due to lack of demand, but the core items are all working and rocking! Don't forget the R53 body style ran through 2006 and the R52 S through 2009. So lots of S/C Motors out there looking for more HP!

Thanks again folks!

I installed my Alta SSK after having it sit in my garage/closet for about 8 months. I just couldn't find the **** I wanted until I found out the thread pattern and got a TWM weighted shift ****. I also had to have the JCW Alacantra Shift boots. I wish I had gotten all of it together the week it came in because I absolutely love it. I had one problem. I was playing with the **** and it came loose, well when I tightened it back down I guess I didn't tighten the allan screws all the way down because the shifter lever started free rotating which made it very difficult for me to limp it back to the apartment. Well I got back in there super tightened it back down and with it at the lowest setting it makes sifting so much more quicker. It is finally getting easier to shift which is a good and bad thing. Good product and recommend it with a good weighted shift ****.

I just installed my 22mm rear sway bar on my '09 Clubman S. Amazing difference in the handling.

4 washers were supplied in the kit but there were no instructions on where to place them. Where is there intended function or did I just hit the washer jackpot?

Porthos: Thanks for the review! Glad you are liking it! Let me know when I can help in the future!

bootska: Glad things went well! Washers come with the pre-packaged bushing/clamp package. They are optional. As long as the bolt head is on top of the clamp, you are a-ok! If you are concerned e-mail me.

Thanks again folks!

I got my Oil Catch Can today. Mine did not include the foam rings that were mentioned in the instructions part list. I expect that since they are on clearance, the rings are just out of stock or something. I was wondering if you guys had a recommendation for something else to put in there to help separate the oil. I've read about using some steel wool, but have my qualms about the wool flaking and entering the engine. I'm going to be installing it this Friday, when i get a day off of work, So i am looking for something i could possibly grab around town and have ready to go.

And I will be installing the Silicon IC boots and the Silicone intake hose, too. I'll take some pictures for you guys =).
