Ford tech here. Just installed the jcw air filter, The 3 % crank pulley, and tensioner stop, and new belt. All parts looked top notch. The 2002 S JCW whines nicely now even off of idle.

John,
I bought a CAI from Alta about 8 months ago and I was very pleased with the whole buying experience. I had my mechanic put it on and he said he had to tweak a few things, but it went on fine. I love the sound!!!

Hey Adam, I just purchased a Used 2008 MCS (3 weeks ago) manual shift. I am plan on doing some performance mods. I have a limited budget at this time due to my new purchase. What would be you first recommended mod. I was thinking a CAI and some Boost tubes.
Thanks Axo

Alta filter

I am sure this question is buried in these threads somewhere, but I can't seem to find it. How many foam stages does the ALTA drop-in foam filter use for a 2011 MCS? And, have you ever had issues with dust blowing by a properly maintained filter?

Fun_driver,

Our ALTA drop in filter has 2 stages of foam. With any filter, small amounts of dirt can pass by, but our filter will be able to absorb much more dirt than a paper or cotton filter, since it's thicker and will maintain flow. Our foam filters have a lot of room to trap dirt and is porous, so even if it's dirty, it will still flow a lot of air.

Hello,

Ya sorry about that, the pulleys went into a short back order situation that will be resolved shortly.

Thank you so much.

I'm very happy with your products and service! Chris and Jeff do a great job! Ever had any thoughts about a brake cooler kit for the R56? Molded bumber with vents and such...

If you were planning on driving to the track, it would be a good idea, otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it. Unless you really wanted the look!

Purchased a couple of sway bars from Alta, a 19mmfor my 2009 MCa and a 22mm for my 2011 MCSa. Two Mini's to compare. Service from Alta has been top notch. Will buy their Access Port soon.

Access Port purchased, now waiting for Alta to come up with the program for the '011 S. Maybe a Jan Tune will happen first, which would be better.

Stephen

Can the Cobb Accessport from any model be reflashed for an ALTA program?

Oh and I am ordering a BIG box from you this week.

Oh and can I add a review for back when you set up my 02 WRX at your shop you had across from Washington Square Mall? I mean you were Alta then too

Thanks for asking and for the repeat business!

The ALTA AccessPORT is different than the Subaru / Mitsu / Nissan models from COBB. Just like you can't take one for a 2002 WRX and use it on a 2010 WRX as the internals are different.

But let us know what you are driving now and we would be happy to help you best we can.

Thanks again!

Just got my intake in, installed it, love it. Had some difficulty getting the silicon intake tub on but nothing bad. Intake sounds amazing.

My pulley has just arrived as well. Hoping to get that in soon.

I made my first order from Alta today: CAI, MSD coil and wires, 15% pulley kit and a puller. I'll be happy to share my first experience with Alta. I spoke Chris who was very helpful.

If it is a first gen, more often than not you need to trim off part of the hose. This is because each cars tolerances can be different, and it would seem to me that it is safer to manufacture a hose too long than too short.

Another fine product from Alta. $100 hose that you have to trim. One of the Alta vendors will pipe in and tell you it's your fault for not installing it correctly if you complain. Just wait until it fails because it's rubbing against ANYTHING. That will be your fault too.

If it is rubbing it is your fault, you should make sure it is cleared when you install it. You also know little about mechanics. Every engine is different as goes the fitting as well. Some engines will require a little trimming where others won't. That being said, the tolerances have gotten tighter but they are still different. For instance, on some MINIs that I swapped the pulley on I had to remove the coil pack and on others there was enough clearance.

Quit trolling...

PSRS Bushing Sizing ?

HI Adam,
I,ve had a set of PSRS's on my 05 S' for quit a few miles now and are getting sloppy. I already have the bushings from you on hand.
What is the best way to size the inside of the bushings ? How do you do this ?
i.e...lathe,mototool,cylinder hone,dremel,file ?
What type of material are they ? i.e...Delrin,nylon,ABS
What is the measurement these need to be honed out too?
Any other advice would be greatly apperciated.
Thanks for the help, Scott
