hi, i m a newbie on this site.

i owe a MCS and is preparing to buy a cat-back exhaust for my baby.

and i hv narrowed down to the above three brands.

do anyone hv any experience with any of the above???

i m tending towards the Milltek since its quieter and gives a good claimed hp increase. also it also sells the manifold as well, which would be my next mod.

but the remus is around 50% cheaper than both Milltek / scorpion.....

any comments appreciated. thx in advance.

Woah, of all the exhausts out there you narrowed it down to three of the least common. What criteria did you use to narrow the scope to those? Seems most are going for Magnaflow or Quicksilver, with a few going the Borla route and yet others with a Supertrap. I know that UUC is coming out with an exhaust many are anxious to try. But Scorpion? Never heard of it. Remus? Is that the type Moss sells? Doubtful power gains. Mostly cosmetic. The Miltek could be good, but I've not heard of anyone selling or buying this.

Davbret, Just because you havnt heard of a product it dont mean its not worthy of consideration!! There are loads of quality exhaust companies in the UK that you probably havnt heard of such as Scorpion, Janspeed, Peco, Mongoose, Jetex, Piper and Ashley among others.
I nearly jumped on the bandwagon and got a Magnaflow just because the group buy made it very affordable but after more research I have decided to wait till i have more funds for a better system.
Dumpling_king, I am sorry but I do not have personal experience with your three choices but I do recommend you to ask over on http://www.Mini2.com
This board caters more to us living in the USA/Canada region whereas Mini2 is more worldwide with a whole bunch of Brits & Aussies.
Cheers Limey.

right Limey i used to be big into VW/Audi scene and those are big names for exhausts in the EURO tuning community especially for those of us who picked up an actual euro magazine once in a while like Performance VW or The Golf. they are British mags and remember where our precious MINIs are built? I would actually be interested in info anyone would have on these systems. i like to be different than the crowd sometimes, hence the MINI

I had a Scorpion exhaust on a '69 Jaguar E Type. The sweetest sounding machine I've ever heard. Bavarian Autosport carries them but no pics, clips or charts. Someone on MINI2 has the complete system, header, hi-flow cat and silencer, and claims his MINI now sounds like a V-8!? Keep us posted on what you find out.

I was in no way knocking on any of the exhausts. I was making the point that of all the exhausts out there, dumpling asked about the 3 least common. The Scorpion and Miltek are UK brands it appears, while the Remus is available stateside at Moss. Given that I've really not heard about anyone installing the Remus, it makes me wonder why no one is using it. With the wide spaced tips (like the Rogue exhaust) it appears to be cosmetic, more sound than power. I could be very wrong. I tend to doubt exhausts that don't show any dyno proof. Just my initial impression. And I'm sure the Miltek could be good, just not heard any info about it before.

SCORPION

REMUS

MILTEK

thx Davbret, u manage to put the pics for us!

btw, the remus pic i think is actually for Cooper instead of MCS. the S model is the same config as the other ones, ie, y-pipes---- two mufflers----- 2 central pipes.... (well, the one i hv seen anyway)

anyway, i do agree on Remus being more cosmetic and sound than performance. and most ppl who had remus )incl me) agrees. but its a lot cheaper (here in Oz) than the Milltek /Scorpion....

What do u guys think of the welding and finishing of the Milltek??? the stainless steel looks about odd??

and is that the resonator at the top of the Milltek pic?? the whole system looks awefully long!

try this link: angrybeats.co.uk (this guys has the full Milltek+ Hartge kit!)

Given those options I'd go for the Scorpion. Looks the cleanest and best manufactured. The Miltek appears rather thrown together from a parts bin, not purpose built like the Scorpion. But what are the pipe sizes between the two? Oh, and why is the resonator larger than the mufflers on the Miltek?!?!
