Palo Uber Londen Hoop scoop & DFIC

Have you guys seen the size of this sucker? And I do mean sucker! This thing looks like it "must" pull in allot of air. I wonder how it would work with my DFIC.

It definitely doesn't flow well in the looks department but it would go well with my Black paint.

I also like the duel exhaust.

Any one have sound clips??

I'm glad you posted that picture of the scoop...I havent seen it from the side. The pix on their website only shows it straight on from the front, and I couldnt even tell how it looked. I like it.

I like it as well. I'm sure there will be some strong opinions on it's looks.

But you just imagine how much air must get rammed into it.

Longboard.

I've always been curious about their exhaust. Seems like it would be a strong advantage to have the exits at the corners rather than the center pipe. I really don't like the hood scoop, but would love to see more of the Gintani kit that's peaking out from under the hood of the blue MCS.

wtf is the point of the scoop on that car?

its water to air!

it would make me leary to pay for a scoop that they are showing on a car where the scoop does nothing but look pretty.

So you're saying that you think it looks "pretty?"

I like the scoop alot.

It goes well with the appearence of my car. but i cant see any benefit for the money. I would rather go get a DFIC scoop for my car.

none of this will matter for me, the car will be getting a water to air setup soon, so whatever scoop i pic will be just for show.

I love the duel exhaust and I am seriously thinking of designing my own with duel Supertrapps. I would have to get the Palo rear apron that isn't cheap but I don't know who else makes one.

Here are the parts I am thinking of using.

SuperTrapp wave tech mufflers

Vibrant technologies resonator

Could be cool.

Mugami did this about 3 years ago. Did tuning and dyno runs if I remember right.
Garfield and some others on MINI2 tested single units as well.

In short, it works.

Thanks for the insight.

It should work great. All 2 1/2" stainless. I love the ability to fine tune the mufflers. I just need to find a good Y-pipe.

This one is from Magnaflow

I would really like a merged Y-pipe. So the search is on. Longboard

The Indi Blue car in post #1 is my car. The Palo Uber scoop was temporarily put on the car while it was at EF-1 Motorsports (U.S. distributor for Palo Uber London). I believe they wanted to see what it would look like on an MCS in my color. The scoop was removed, and the stock unit was reinstalled. This is the first time I have seen the pic; and while the frontal view is interesting, I'm not sure about the side view.

Such a scoop on my car would have virtually no effect on the post-IC temperature, since my car has the Gintani system (intake manifold with integral air-liquid intercooler). BTW, earlier in this thread Jay asked about the rest of the Gintani system. I refer you to the following thread, and the link for pictures that I provided in the very first post:

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...hlight=Gintani

Cheers,

It's different.
I think it'd look better with a bit larger radius on the leading edge. If I remember right you will maintain a more clean boundary layer in the airflow with a smooth radius instead of a sharp edge.

Might be the picture angles??

I like it, that monster scoop should grab some air. That would look good in CF on my DS bonnet.
A larger radii should enhance the flow even more. I will soon share some OEM IC air diverter Mods that would really benefit from this scoop. BUT. big BUT here, Listed for $265.00 eek
Maybe I'll try my hand with fiberglass.
