A sponsorship is tough to get....
you don't just get one awarded to you...
is it all free stuff? or 10 over cost?
details details details...
many sponsors require that you attend over 10 shows annually, and or allow them to use your vehicle for print/media advertising. Another keen way to get sponsored is to purchase the items you love, get featured in a media production... then send the media to the product retailers/distribitors or manufacturers....
eEven I am having a tough time with sponsorship and I have 3 websites... and will feature my mini in a Bikini Video and Calendar.... Go Figure!
So yes.... DETAILS ARE NEEDED.

Wow! I had no idea there would be such feedback on my post.
Well, here is what I will tell you guys.
When I say I was "rewarded" with a sponsorship, what I mean is that
based on other vehicles I have built in the past, and my plans for my Mini,
a company has agreed to pay for 50% of my parts. I will have a contract with them.
In return, I will agree to attend a number of events with the Mini, which will have some ties to the company (IE: A logo on the front or rear windshield, and 2 small logos on the side skirts). In addition, I will attend the events with a T-shirt and help out. I will also be looking for other cars that might qualify for a sponsorship.
I know a lot of people in the custom vehicle business here in Phoenix. I have been building out of my own pockets for 15 years now. I have had my cars and trucks in shows, and I have had them used in advertisements, and magazine shoots.
It is about time that I get some help. There are companies out there looking for sweet cars to help "promote" their products. However, they are hard to come by.
But if you look hard enough, know or find the right people, and have a track record of building quality stuff, you can do it.
We all want free stuff. It really doesn't work that way.
I know this is kinda vague, but I hope it helps.
Do some stuff to your car to make it nice, and original. Get it into some shows. If you do well enough, people will be silling to help you out because they know you are seroius and not just a guy looking for free parts.

Yes, I got offered a sponsorship also, but turned it down for various reasons. Mainly I didn't want anyone sticking their nose into my MINI plans, which change! I also did not want to feel obligated to anyone. Mine was for 10% over cost and fixed labor hours (so, if something takes too long, I wouldn't have to pay for the overage).
Enjoy yours!

Good for you Tracy.
It is cool to see you were taken care of.
I almost went for a SEMA car, but they wanted me to do a Potiac Vibe....No Thanks.....even if I was only going to pay $5,000 for he car and they were going to supercharge it, paint it, tint it, lower it, put wheels on it, and who know what else.
In the end, it was still a Pontiac.
To me, I love the trade work. Hook me up with some parts and I will advertise or help you out in what ever way I can. In a way, it is just like a part time job except I get paid with parts instead of cash. Having a modified car isn't cheap. I'll take all the help I can get.
Good luck everyone. Leep me posted if anyone lucks out and gets one!

This is a car sponsored by the company that owns it ...Correct?
I think the thread is refuring to owner sponsored cars not company owned cars. But I am wrong sometimes so, I am sponsored by two local businesses and in negotiations with a large company. For an independent owner like myself that has a desire to customize his car at his exspence can cost quit a few dollars. I know I have sunk a few dollars in my car. I am and will be always willing to advertise for a sponsor. That is the key to getting a good sponsor. I have traveled to many cities and diffrent car shows displaying my car. Use to do it with H/D motorcycles but that got old after so many years and the same crowd week after week. So if anyone out there is willing and wanting to sponsor a beautiful MINI"S" in South Florida with year round exposure let me know.

Well Nobull60,
The car is still licensed with my name on the title and I still drive it 35 miles and 1-2 hours each way to work. I still send in a check every month from my personal checking account to my credit union. So, if that does not make me an owner then I do not know what does.
All mods regardless of what they are still cost money. So, in trade of cash to buy mods my car does advertising.
The stuff listed:
>>-Racing and Street Tries for all of our vehicles (Mini's and others)

are items that these manufacturers gave me. They had me fill out forms and meet certain criteria prior to getting the products. Now as a result Diamond Racing sells some of these items.
But, as I mentioned because of these items I had to make SEMA, CES and other appearances.
It is not all the time easy wife, two kids, full time job, other ventures.
So to say FREE is the wrong word. Everything comes with some cost.
But, it sure is fun....
