Unichip questions and sugestions please

I recieved my Unichip yesterday and have not yet installed it.

Are you putting the switches in cab or engine bay ?
Any pro / cons. Any mounting info (photos)

When you take you car in for service do you unplug, un-install or leave connected ??
I was Shark and would just "back it out" and reload after service

Thanks

Engine bay.
One reason I didn't run the switch into the cab is that I found I don't change settings and another is ease of removal.

Installation is maybe 15 minutes.

Agree, leave the switches up in the cowl area near the Unichip itself (just remember to mount the Chip so that the wiper arm does not hit it!) I switch very rarely, and simply for the hell of map A or B (no octane variations here in the sticks.)
Take it out when returning for any warranty items, and probably every time your ServMngr looks under the bonnet. With all the best intentions (like my SM) they will nearly always blame the Unichip for whatever problem is occurring, rather than try to figure it out until they get to the chip. I had a vacuum tube fall off, but the chip got blamed. I eventually figured it out myself, and fixed it.
The Unichip is very easy to remove and reinstall.

cheers, phil

In cowl area. I don't know if it is necessary but I put the switch and the light
in a clear plastic bag with a rubber band so that water would not
get to the switch. You could still throw the switch with it in the bag.

Good sugestion on the bag idea ... thanks

I am kind of odd in that EVERYTHING on my car I have done.

Also ... if I told you what I paid for my Unichip (yes new, yes sealed in box, yes ramped for my mods) you would understand that 15 / 20 min of my time is worth it.

Thanks for the info all.
