Drivetrain Motor mounts?
I got mine from LOTF who got it on eBay. There is already a threaded hole in the block that just happened to be the same thread as the bolt that came with the damper. The frame already has a hole too. If you have a catch can, this type of mounting will be perfect.
Partsman,
for innovation. I was looking in around in the engine bay last night wondering if that was possible. How much disassembly was required to install it like that?
Could you comment on the results - effectiveness in reducing engine slop and side-affect of cabin vibration?
EDIT: you have an 03, so it might not work for my 05... I'll have to look.

There was no disassembly at all.
I could definitely tell a difference after the install, the car felt a little "tighter" on acceleration. There is a little vibration at idle, though.

You don't need to drill anything. There is a hole already on the side of the block and the bolts that came with the damper fit right in (had to shorten the bolt a little as it's a tight fit).
You can see the difference when the engine is idling compared to a stock car - there is almost no vibration.
You can feel the difference when pulling out of a stop.....and in general there is less engine movement and you can feel a bit more vibration in the steering wheel (very slight).
It took about 10 minutes to saw off the bolt and install. Very easy.
Best part is the fact that it doesn't cost ANYWHERE as much as others I have seen for sale.....
And again, no need for any brackets or any modification other than the bolts.

There is minimal vibration at idle/cruise. I mean you really have to try hard to notice it.
Anybody interested in a group buy? I'm going to be needing one for my 06 MCS....
I think Partsman would need one for his other car as well......
Please post if you are interested

If I can get 20 people for the group buy I can swing something very reasonable around the $40 area shipped.
They come in RED, BLUE or SILVER.
If you want to get it yourself it would be $55 shipped per unit.
Pretty damn good compared to $160 + shipping per unit, eh?

The frame bracket uses 2 12mm bolts and is pretty sturdy, with all the forces working in the right direction. The NRG damper unit is the same as the Ingalls unit.
cheers,
cheers,
Just being dramatic
Nice find LOTF.
Curious though why anyone with the older style motor mounts would go this route instead of the Powerflex bushing inserts.
Not saying good or bad just interested in peoples thoughts.
Nice install too.

Thanks Obehave - I found the shockers and Partsman found the method! He had the old style and I had the new.
Been running it now for a few weeks and everything is great (other than the fact that I initially cut my bolt too short and will need to replace it).
Being that this took only minutes and did not require any jacking of the engine or removal of existing parts, I'd say this is a quick and efficient way to enhance the stability of the engine without doing too much.
