For me, it is about the unknown... I would like to know what the AGS unit does for the MINI. If it doubles the power of an Alta/Rogue, I may be inclined to swap out, if not, then at least we know now... It is about options and choosing to exercise them! By gathering this data, we in turn will gain an additional option for our MINIs. Whether or not you agree with it, you have to admit it is commendable that people from around the country (now internationally) are willing to participate, albeit in different forms ($/time/thoughts)... Besides, if $10 breaks you, best keep it to yourself and your gas tank! Let's just make sure we have everything ready to go and that we are prepared to test any and all aspects of each unit so that there are no questions afterwards!

Sid, In my earlier post on this thread I stated that I didn't care enough to contribute. But now after watching the support grow it seems to be a well worth while project. I know that my car will never see a dyno, no matter what kind of intake it has on it, so it will be nice to see all of the different intakes you're testing on the same car on the same day. Its nice to see the NAM community coming together to solve an almost year long question. It still would have been nice if the manufacture posted data. But then again maybe by the community doing this any questions of "fake or inflated" numbers can be avoided. Will the results make me change out my intake, probably not, but $10 is a small price to pay to stop the bashing that has been going on for much to long.

I PayPal'd $10 to you, use it well. (maybe a burger or a beer )

Easy, now! You may want to catch up on things before you jump in and expose yourself more than you mean to.

It's possible that the scam artist you're exposing has really done his homework. He's been undercover for a few years, posting fervently, masquerading as a genuine MINI enthusiast, someone truly obsessed with his MINI. And now he's going to reap the rewards byt taking us all to the cleaners. $10 at a time, he's going to make a fortune with which to purchase his real dream car!?

I shouldn't make fun of your post, but, really... We know MSFITOY. He's not yet a saint, but he's good people... and a true, flag-waving MINI enthusiast. So when he gives out his email address, many of us do trust him enough to send him money to fund a dyno test. I doubt he's going to flee the country with our $200. We know him. Many of us don't know you. If you were to give us your email address, we wouldn't send you money. That's just how it is. After saying such unkind and uninformed things about one of us, we might be inclined to send you a somewhat brisk note asking you to kindly get your facts straight before you start shooting your mouth off.

I don't want you to feel like you're being told to shut up. Just try to know what you're talking about.

When is the Dyno Time Scheduled?

 

We're still working on that Dan. There's seems to be an issue with the dyno operator's schedule. I'd like a week for your filter to come in and other test equipment from Andy and others. Probably within two weeks we hope.

Just wait. If this goes well, you'll have people lining up to ask you to be the "independent test lab" for performance parts.

 

Maybe a missed the boat... (entirely possible) but TO DATE, which units are you/we testing?

 

one question that i still haven't seen answered is if the AGS will have the STOCK throttle body or a larger one installed... you can see how numbers generated by a larger TB would not be comparable to the other systems. if you have answered this question, my apologies..

 

I believe they are testing without the TB, air intake to air intake...

anyways, Sid, good meeting you at the dragon this year, i have your back if the guy on fire starts running towards you!

working out a deal AS WE SPEAK with Kass Motorsports for purchasing the M7 AGS, TB, 180deg thermostat, intercooler, the works.... so i'm interested in seeing these results-----when they are posted publically.... my reason for this is that i think the people need to see what's really going on here, not just those who pay to see, though i commend your support for the cause.... if the AGS isn't worth its price tag and peter has been pulling my chain and everyone elses (long convo's with him about it over the past few months), then i think everyone needs to know immediately - so don't be stingy with the results, when you all get it, got it?

oh yeah, also forgot to say my 2nd reason for not wanting to contribute - just started a job with a company with nearly unlimited funds doing aftermarket performance parts and accessories (they started doing stereo and bling wheels before they hired me) and they will be purchasing the most badass dyno Mustang can build in early December, so i can wait until then to get any and all the testing i want, considering i am one of the new managers.... me =

 

I wish I could part with my Rogue for a little while so it could be tested, but that can't happen, I would miss it too much!!!

 

Again, thank you for ALL the support and trust. Honestly this has turned into a larger issue then I ever dreamed. Niave me. I thought we would swap out some intakes get some numbers, hand them out so everyone would see how different intake behaive. Have some data to make informed choices and answer everyone's question; what makes more HP?. And also, do something for myself - get a little more education. Now I'm seeing that I am getting more then I first bargained for - a large education. So keep the suggestions and info coming, class time for me.
Now to restate the car, the test base; completely stock car, save for the exhaust, 1K miles, 1 oil/filter change. I will show photos of exhaust change when car is put on Dyno.
As Sid stated earlier, test date is hopefully within 2 weeks, waiting for Pilo filter (thank you for the offer) and test equipment. We will post date when one is set.

 

I never meet MSFITOY in any chances, but from all others post, I know he made lots of contribution in here.

Yes, no one ask me to join the party, however if I know my neighbor going wild in their party, should I call for cops? I never know MSFITOY, never meet him in person, but after I read the post, it doesn't make any sense. I don't want any one in getting hurt.

Anyway, if you think it is worth to make contribution, then do it. Here is a place for free speach. I just express my feeling about how ridiculous to do such thing.
