Drivetrain M7 16% pulley + GIAC for 15%?
I'm going to be running this combo shortly. If I recall correctly, Peter said that a 15% program will run the 16% pulley just fine. I don't recall asking about running a 17% program with the 16% pulley though. Hmmm...something to ask Peter about.

Hmmm
My 04 with 19% ran fine with the stock mapping. It runs a bunch better with the GIAC software and JCW injectors for the 19, but I can't say it was obvious till I did the upgrade with Eric (Helix). And I was running version 36 or maybe 37 in the ECU. Sept 03 build and it has never seen the dealer. This seems at odds with the TheOfficeMaven's experience. Don't ask me why, I don't know.

I've yet to see anyone else who has an 01/05 or later built MCS with LSD install a 19% and tell the result. Anyone?
M7 & MTH
I might be spilling the beans.
I'm about to put on the M7 pulley, so I asked Peter about it.
He said they were using MTH as the software up grade for it. (the 16%)
He also said MTH was more noticeable in the low and mid-range as well as the 5K + rpm, GIAC is smooth less responsive.
I'm going through a local seller here in Hi to do the back n forth emailing.
Seems like MTH is very comon and well liked for price & performance.
It's upgradeable for new mods later too.

pulleys & mapping
I'm no expert but drove my 03/03 with a 15% pulley an alta intake and stock v36 with great results. Very noticeable improovement in driveability, better take off and more torque at lower rpm's. I also had 2 different mth maps and was much happier with the first version franz sent. The mth mapping improoved thottle responsiveness so it was more fun to drive. The second map felt too edgie (jumpie) for my taste, burned more fuel even while my driving style and comute was the same as before. I drove close to 30,000 miles with the 15% pulley. I've gone to a 19% pulley, jcw injectors, giac software set up and I'm very pleased. The new set up has a more linear power delivery. I wasn't too impressed initialy but once I got to understand the difference I loved it more and more. The one thing I was very impressed with from the get go was the giac software smoothness, it was and still is better than ever. I'm close to 10,000 miles on the new set up and can honestly say it was worth every dollar.
I just finished dropping Alice off at Speedware Motorsports where she's "having a little work done." By tomorrow afternoon, she will be sporting a 16% M7 Pulley & Milltek Catback Exhaust. The M7 AGS will be here by Tuesday, next week. Then Speedware will perform that installation.
The next thing will be to contact Franz @ MTH.

mth dif.
I requested a second map from mth after taking the car to get serviced and getting flashed. Configuration was for a 15% pulley, alta intake, 93 octane fuel and less intrussive dsc both times. The second map made the car very jumpie during throttle transition and burned more fuel. The difference in throttle response smoothnes between my second mth software and the giac running my car now can be best described as the difference between day and night.
If you want to know how smooth an mcs can drive go take a test drive on a jcw kitted mcs, it's the best I can do for you. Hope that helps.
