Oil Catch Can Fitment!!??
Ok, so here is my problem...these pics were from my camera phone
..anyway..here they are..
First off, I don't have enough silicone tubing to reach the rear mounting locationg. So I decided I would mount in front...well it doesnt fit there...

Its the same can..just turned kinda sideways cant see the alta name thing...ill go measure real quick..yea mine is the exact same height..
You see I can't the bottom piece anylower cuz it is tightened down on that ground piece..and its as low as it can..its like my whole engine is lowered or something?? is your car lowered?? does that make a difference? I have H&R springs..so its dropped like 1.2" or something

Hmmmm...........

Hmmmm...........

ok, I found this picture on ebay

my bolt for the ground is not this far forward at all..its pretty much directly under the top part of the ground wire...
Go up and click on my picture..and see the silicone part is not near touching that front support piece..where in this picture it is right up against it...
I guess I am SOL for this mounting..and until I get more silicone tubing..I can't mount the other location..

msfit,
That is one of the most annoying things with the Mini. That stud, moves front to back all the time! The other thing is it looks like your studd is higher? There should be 7ft of silicone with your kit, which is about 6" more than needed. But if you have less, let me know and we will send you some more. Then you can put it in the back ABS area.

Hi ALTA,
- What will be my boost after %15 pulley,ALTA CAI, SS Headers, and ALTA Exhaust? (Without Cat) As you mentioned another thread, back pressure causes increase in boost but your exhaust system seems free flow.
- Do I really need bigger injectors?
minirowski,
1.I would guess right around 13-14psi. This also depends on the type of gauge.
2.Nope, not unless you are running them more than 95%DC. If you run a different ECU flash that requires the larger injectors that is one thing. Injectors don't give you HP they just enable you to get more with supporting mods. A 15% pulley is not enough to warrant new injectors. 19% yes.

I have a JCW, if I order a 19% pulley what are some precautions I should take. I have heard stuff like don't go over 5500rpm. I just would like to know, I will probably end up getting just a 17%.
also can i order a set of intercooler boots
also can i order a set of intercooler boots
I/C Air Diverter
I was wondering if Alta can comment on the install of the air diverter.. I wanted to know what water source is the water spray connected to.. also is there a button that is provided to put in the car or can it be electronically controlled on the MFSW. thanks
Unless you hook up another washer pump and supply bottle, the sprayer will get connected to either your frt. or rear washer. Yes the MFS would control it and also activate your washer. Well thats how mine works anyways.
MSFIT,
A 19% pulley is just fine, you just don't want to rev it past 7000rpm. The problem is the JCW has a 7500rpm redline. But i do know of many people that have used a 19% pulley with 7500RPM redline and not had any issues. But it is something i would stay away from. If you are worried about the redline, go with the 17%.
Slowride11,
The water source is the rear window washer bottle. Which is located under the hood on the passenger side of the car. There is no switch provided with the kit, but the stock rear wiper switch works pretty well. Many people have used their own switch, but the nice thing about ther rear wiper switch is that it is OEM looking.
We looked into building a special separate system for this but the cost we think will scare people away. The kit was going to retail for about $400 or so, which is a bit much. It would be pretty cool in that it would turn on water vs. boost vs. time vs. air temp, and even RPM.

Do you still have plans for the sprayer which will be controlled I guess by the ECU. I would suggest maybe a seperate poll on who would buy this product. It has great use for us trackday guys. I know the cost is up there, but you may have a market out there. Thanks.

newbs49,
At this point nothing is on the board, but with the hdyra ECU we are working on it will. The hydra can do lots of other things besides run the engine. It would make the Water squirter squirt based on all the variables i mentioned earlier. And not adding cost to the Hydra!
wagnbat,
We are shooting to ship them the end of the year. About the same time as the Turbo kit.

Sorry, the price is a little up in the air. We will offer it with a cat for less that some of the Euro parts being imported. But also since this is a made in the USA part, it will be more than the parts that are offered from China. But much higher qualitiy. We will release solid pricing very soon along with dyno numbers.
Thanks for your time at SEMA...
Jeff, I just wanted to post a note that you and your team were a total class act at the SEMA show. It was great to talk to you, inspect your products up close and drool al over your Twincharged MINI. I was back at least three or four times and each time some one took the time to answer any questions I had. I'll be going with quite a few of your products when my MINI arrives...the intake might even be here before the car!
Thanks again!
