Addendum,

I originally planned to install both (at different times of course) dyno each and post graphs......keep the one that performed the best. that is not an option now. I think that is too bad because it would have been very interesting to compare.

did you find and fix what was throwing the code (as opposed to the stumble)? as I recall, they wanted to replace your ECU?

I have been out of town all week at a trade show and the car has been at R Speed. I talked to Joe yesterday and they were testing it. I did not get a run down from him as I was at the show and had to be quick. I talked to Rrandy Webb and Scott Grandfield both of whom I trust and they were pretty sure it was not the ECU. I know that both of them talked to R Speed so I have got some pretty good minds working on it. Randy is re mapping the UNICHIP for my mods and hopefully by next week I will be off and running. I will still dyno the car and post results with the Unichip

Thanks for your interest and concern

Good luck with it Spider. My car kept throwing codes when I had my 15% pulley put on (misfires), and Mini swapped everything in the car to try to find the problem. I had $8000 in stuff replaced with no fix.

Bob,

I've been following your saga with interest. Glad it's working out. But I'm a bit confused. When you say, "Better than ever" -

Is that back to 15% and stock ECU?

15% with UNICHIP and stock injectors?

Or with 19%?

19%, GIAC?

19% GIAC, & Helix injectors?

Or some other combo?

I took the car to the dealer and they wanted to change the ECU (said it was bad) Hector, Joseph, Scott and Randy thought otherwise. Hector had the car last week and changed some sensors and the valve for the supercharger (forget the name) The dealer reflashed the car to 40 before I took it to R Speed. The GIAC is off the car. The 380 injectors are on. It has 19%. The software as i drove it today is stock 40. Randy has remapped the Unichip for all my mods and it is going on today. I will have the car tomorrow. I hope to get to the dyno in the next few weeks. I got my money back for the GIAC. The car as I drove it today has NO codes and ran the smoothest it ever has by far...that I am very happy with. It puled like hell at the top but the mid range was not as stout. I think that the UNICHIP will fix that. Aferall the car is prettty heavily modded with stock software. I am very encouraged. I'll do more posting when I get to drive the car for a few days.

btw. I ordered and aero kit which will be here next week.

I'm really intrested to know how the UNICHIP works with your current setup.

Guess you saw the thread on ATL MINIs about a hightly competent UNICHIP custom tuner?

I would assume. You would have to ask hector at R Speed for the exact but the bypass valve and the two sensors were replaced.

Update

I picked up the car today from R Speed and have driven it about 100 miles. So far it has no codes and is running very strong, smoother than it ever has and plenty of power. I will mention my girlfriend is all mad with me for how loud it is driving in her upscale neighborhood. She thinks I am a redneck.

This is the best the car has ever been. The Unichip map that Randy did has added the mid range punch that was lacking. Getting used to the 19% is interesting....I have to think about the difference some and will post my impressions later. I'm not sure I like it......I need more time with it.

As far as a dyno, I have booked time in two weeks to go over to Hesco in Birmingham to do a custom Unichip tune. They have quite a pedigree with race cars and come highly recomended. THey will tune the car on the dyno and I will post the reults.

Thanks to all

Kudos to Randy, Scott and the guys and gals at R Speed
