Drivetrain Can the PC680 from oddessy Battery be used everyday
Feel confident about using it daily, I used mine for well over 2 years with no
problems at all. Finaly it took a nose dive and died which was expected, as I
had the battery sitting for weeks at a time without being recharged.....

While I live in "sunny" CA, I'm in a canyon where the cold air settles on Winter nights. With my MCS outside seeing 30's often, 20's sometimes, and even high teens once or twice, no problem at all. These batteries don't like heat! That is why the MCS application is so cool (pun intended
) - the battery is not in the engine bay...Summit now sells a bracket for this battery for those who want to place it elsewhere...

Eric, very nice find! It's 2 pounds lighter than the one I have (Hawker at 13.5 lbs), and with more cold cranking amps. Your website says almost 40% more cca's, but I think you mean almost 30%, right (360 vs. 280, not 260)? Either way, it's notable...
The reserve capacity is about the same, but a bit less though, like 6%. The price delta is quite a bit at less than half:

It does come with the posts though. More options is a good thing!

"For motorsports applications use the Odyssey battery. The Odyssey was designed for rugged vibration sensitive applications with thicker plates to prevent cracking and premature failure. The warranty on the Genesis doesn't cover motorsports installations."
Since I autocross a LOT and do 4-6 DE's a year, I'm betting the Hawker won't hold up...
scobib, I don't do any auto-x or racing of any type, so my input might not be of much value... With that said, mine has held-up very well, and it sees a lot of action in the canyon where I live. It is strapped-down (strap not shown below) with some rubber feet, like stand-offs separating it from the boot floor.

The Odyssey is only a few bucks more ($72), so probably well worth it. Not sure why I didn't get it to start with! I guess when this one craps-out...

It appears that you used 260 instead of 280... The math was otherwise fine
.
Again, nice find. If I didn't already have a bracket for my current set-up, I'd strongly consider that baby! You might want to think about offering (fabricating) a custom bracket for that battery, if one is not already available...
