Posted this on the webb forums:

Needed a better spot to mount the catch can cuz draining it over by the ABS system would be a pain in the ***.... thats how this whole adventure started. So here is what we did:

1. Took out the Alta air box and made sure the hood would shut with it on the TB.

2. Took a body saw to the lower portion of the factory air box to remove the ECU housing.

3. Attached the M7 catch can to the original wall behind the airbox.

4. Mounted a breather for the output of the catch can to the ECU housing by drilling 2 small holes and a zip tie.

5. There was still a big empty void in the middle so what would fit there??? How about a resevoir with electonic motor from a Miata! Mounted this using 1 bold to the ECU housing.

6. Wired up the motor to a toggle that we mounted into my parcel shelf. (Attempted to install an LED that said when it was on also but we didnt have any resistors).

7. Attached the other end of the resevoir to my alta sprayer...

VOILA!

Hi Matt, I certainly did not forget M7's website's very limited mentioning of this item, and I actually addressed that topic in post #268 of this thread, after that aspect was brought-up earlier. That website language was provided, like this thread with some photos, in response to a NAM member's thread in very early Oct of last year. Some relevant info from my earlier post:

Again, the AGS discussion was started by someone else. Peter had conceived this idea nearly this time last year, and ran with a prototype last Summer. Someone sees it, word spreads, and it becomes a thread before he would ideally like to start discussing it, at least publicly.

Some will say, well, he mentioned it on his website a few months back. Heck, that doesn't mean he wants to discuss it anymore than what he provides in that release. I was on the Sony Ericscson website today, and they got some stuff mentioned there (3 "phones") that are slated to come-out 'later this year.' This is a common practice for many companies, and again, as I stated before, as a consumer, I like to know what's in the works. I'm going to hold-off and wait for a particular Sony Ericcson phone, as time is not of the essence for me; for others it might be. I appreciate being able to make informed decisions. And if there are delays, I contact the source directly...

========

A vendor choosing to have a one-way communication via an ad, or website blurb is in no way tantamount to starting a discussion in a public forum about it; and especially when it's not of the company's initiation. When such a thread starts without support or proof of the item (the earlier thread), we see what happens, and we recently saw with an SPI thread a couple of days ago that NAM doesn't tolerate ambiguity alright. And just like a new thread was started in the SPI example (with more details and photos), Peter was very much compelled to confirm the same, and did so with the website lingo, and the starting of this thead with photos to indeed prove that the AGS is a real product moving-down the pipeline...

I'm totally amazed at all of the dynamics that are involved in bringing something to market. And after doing my best to monitor such things from a couple vendors (not a NAM show like this one), I must say that the AGS is one of the least surprising or uneventful of the several that I'm following (and have followed). This one is just like the "The Truman Show" of sorts though .

Hey Matt, I did finally get my new control arms, and while I thought I would have time to to install them this Easter morning (and I do), I'm holding-off as Alta is sending me something to try-out... so next weekend it is... The H-Sports have your name on them .

Folks, a pleasant and warm Easter Day to all!

I know stuff happens. And it's a business they can run like they want to. And that a lot of thier product is good. But from my business experience, M7 could do a better job of managing expectations.... I don't mean this as a bash or mud-slinging, just as some constructive criticism.

Still waiting patiently for the numbers.....

M7 can and will do what they want....

And some will get pissed, and blame them, some will hold on based on the potential percieved in the design, and some will buy something else. Me, I'll just wait for some numbers...... Good data doesn't lie, but good marketing sure does!

Ags Now !!!!

OK, you guys have been real patient, so here are a couple of pictures of the AGS system on my car. It has been running on this engine for about 2 weeks and several runs on the Dyno. I can't discuss any numbers that have been generated on my car by the AGS as it is just part of a larger packege and we were not concerned of the numbers delivered by just the intake. Peter will release some numbers soon on the gains possible with just this mod. The overal package, which I can't discuss the contents of, will be available from M7 and produced a gain of about 50 HP at the wheels on my car. The final dyno runs will be made next week and Peter will make the results known at that time.

The complete package on my car is a joy to drive with increased low end torque and screaming power on the top end of the rev range.

Enjoy and discuss,

Bill

Bill, I was at the Cove this morning and hoping that you would be there with the secret project MINI. It's looking good. What is the last photo - a fuel pressure or temp regulator of some kind?

Rick,

The club had a run to the Planes of Fame museum in Chino this morning at 7:30 AM, or I would have been there.

Keep guessing,

My sig/tag has been like that for about a month on many boards and you guys are just noticing it now !!!

The car was on display at Vegas in the M7 booth for all to see, no secret after that.

By the way, I thought this was the AGS thread???

Rick, you get the prize.

Randy saw my car in Vegas and liked what I did with the empty space. I have the tank hooked up to my intercooler sprayer, but Ill swap it over to this sort of system once its done

So we can't get the AGS by itself? I thought that the AGS was the only thing being marketed in this thread...and if it is part of a bigger package, then why tout it as the BEST CAI that will be out there? Almost sounds like more is being added to the "package" to get the promised gain over other CAIs. And if more is added, then it's not just a CAI, and can't be compared as such.

Peter will release some numbers soon on the gains possible with just this mod. The overal package, which I can't discuss the contents of, will be available from M7 and produced a gain of about 50 HP at the wheels on my car. The final dyno runs will be made next week and Peter will make the results known at that time.
And I know you're not making promises for Peter not to come through on, are you?

I'm not a business owner, but in my job I don't keep making promises, then excuses, and then more promises...I wouldn't have a job if I did.

The best bet for Peter to do is give a time frame as to his release instead of soon this, soon that.

I've been reading that the AGS will be out "soon" for 6 months now. This post was started by Peter 12/24, a full two months after we were supposed to have pictures, and a month after it was supposed to be released.

To quote Randy from M7 after the thread was started by someone who heard about the AGS and was asking if it was real.

There's no "if all goes well" disclaimer in that at all.

What is his/M7's schedule? From the quote above it seems even he doesn't know what that is.

Sounds like it will be available as a stand alone offering.

I am sorry if my comments were misleading, the AGS is certainly available by it's self. In my case it was just installed as part of a larger package and therefore the dyno numbers we have on my car include many other things.

I will not commit any dates for the general availability of the AGS, my reason for posting was just to show that it does in fact exist, is not the figment of someone's imagination, and is running on more than one car today, mine is one of those.

I am certainly learning, as I have been told before, that you have to be very careful of what you post and how you say it.

I convinced Peter that it would be ok for me to post some pics of the AGS system and give a few words of my impressions. I guess I should have just kept quiet, but I thought with all the posts on this thread, someone would actually like to see it installed and running on a customer's car, oh well.

Sorry if I have caused a problem,

Bill

Just to clarify my impressions.

I have driven my car after all the engine mods were done but the stock intake was left on. In fact it was in that condition when I drove it to Vegas.

After I returned from Vegas the AGS was installed, so I have experienced this car with and without the AGS installed.

After the AGS was installed my "Butt Dyno" told me there was a significant difference in performance and the drivability was really improved.
Increased smoothness and throttle response were very evident & the sound is amazing. And I really liked the sound of my Alta intake that I was running before we took all my mods off to start this project as bone stock.

To sum up, I really like the AGS on my car, and that was the reason for adding to this thread.

MyPocketRocket,

Remember that 50HP is not from just the AGS, but from the whole package installed on my car, and yes there will be before and after dyno graphs to back up the numbers when the project is done.

50+HP is what the package did on my car, your results could be different, even better maybe,

But this is material for another thread, just AGS talk here.

"standard disclaimer......yada yada yada........"

Still looks like a glorified HAI with larger throttle body. What's the big deal?
