Where are the numbers?

While I admire your confidence, right now there are no public numbers that indicate that this is any better or worse set-up that what's available, with a larger TB. There are also questions about filter area vs the HAI, and with no real data to look at thinking the new flow path and filter set up will be cost effective is at best an act of faith.

It would be nice if some prototype numbers were posted, or if M7 would close this project before starting a dozen more.

And the beat goes on....

since it appears you are hell-bent, have you seen some performance numbers that made up your mind?

Im sure the AGS will be better than the HAI that I am currently running... if not, at least it looks better I dont have room for something like the Alta anymore, and I did all the current mods with the AGS in mind.

That's a mighty big leap of faith...

Serious question: considering the lack of real information that has thus far been available regarding the AGS, what is it that prompted you to do that?

Don't be discouraged by the fact that Peter and Randy might not be on here very much. In fact, it's an encouragement, it means they're doing what really matters instead of just talking about it on here :D

Trust me, they are working very hard to wrap it up and make this available...

OK, but it's difficult. Thier own posts say that they're working on lots of items. And the number of dates that have come and gone... Dead horse, meet whip! Anyway, I HOPE that this gets released. I HOPE that the numbers are indeed better than a re-worked TB-SC intake piece, larger TB, and HAI. But now it's still hope... Fading waining hope...... Let's just say that I'm not stopping any plans waiting for the product. But if (ok, when) it comes out, I'll look at the data, and if it's enough better, it may end up on my car. But by then, I'll have re-worked my own TB-SC intake piece, and I have the HAI, so it will have to be enought better than just a TB added to the cheap mods to justify the costs.

And the beat (still) goes on.....

Matt

ps, no I'm not a Cher fan, but the prase fits!

There are indeed other products coming-out, and since the plan is (or at least was) for them to be tuned and released together, the AGS is part of a much bigger picture...

Dates? I think the closest thing I recall to a date was when M7 said to a NAM member that he would have the AGS prior to a planned dyno, and that didn't happen. If we all were privy to the evolution of MINI products coming to market, as we are with this one, we would see that things don't always go as planned; and that actually seems to be the norm as opposed to the exception...

I make it a point to communicate with M7 (as well as Mr. Webb) on a fairly regular basis to get as much as they are willing/able to share. I encourage others who care enough to do the same. They are not going to frequent these forums as much as some want, and thankfully so - as I feel that there are more important things to do with limited time...

Peter will release this on his schedule, as he had planned to do so all along, as with any of his products. He is not in any way going to be compelled to do otherwise because of an earlier thread, not of his own creation. I sense that he is encouraged very much by the strong interest and support he is receiving, but does not want to rush this beyond the scope of his plans, and truly wants to make sure everything is just right...

this is all fine and dandy, but many of the dates listed were out of M7 own postings..... Go look at the pissing contest part of the posts and you'll see many dates that came and went (like all those that wanted it for Christmass) I'm sure the guys are nice and everything, the actuall history of M7 commitments isn't very complementary to the project management skills used in orchistrating the release. The product isn't available yet. And that speaks for itself too! I hope it comes out soon, but I'm not sitting on the edge of my chair.

Here's a tough question for everyone. Immagine you were hyping a product, missed many deadlines (real or immagined), finally got your product finished and it sucked. I mean you have said how great this thing is going to be and when it hit the dyno it created NO power increase at all. What would you do? I'm NOT saying this M7 intake will be like that, I'm sure Peter and crew will end up with a great product, but what if it was YOU and it was your product? Remember not only do you have a serious capital investment but also a large audience via the WWW watching, what do you do? Come clean and take the financial and reputation hit or fake dyno numbers? You have to admit its a tough question.

It is indeed 100% purely hypothetical.

I don't recall anywhere in this thread or the one that brought this into NAM's attention where M7 specified a release date (read, month & day). There were several instances where there was expressed hope that it would be done by a certain time, and with that a proper disclaimer, 'if all goes well', or where something to that effect accompanied the expression. And this was only mentioned in response to NAM inquiries on the subject...

I just spoke with Peter a couple of hours ago while killing some time as my wife was doing the grocery shopping. He just laughs at the piddley bs some NAM members choose to devote time.

A NAM member starts a thread on his AGS well before he would have liked to have gone public with such information. He confirms that he is indeed working on something unique, and does his best to share what he can along the way. The attention and interest is nice, but most folks don't seem to remember, or don't want to remember, that NAM wouldn't know about the AGS now if Peter had his way. The AGS is very much intertwined with something of a bigger scope, and he's certainly no going to rush this or anything else simply because a few folks are whining about something that they otherwise would not even know about.

My wife, who can care less about NAM or the AGS, gets a hoot out of reading how grown men act on here . She says if they (NAM children) didn't know, they wouldn't be "waiting." And the M7 dude that you chat with didn't want them to know just yet, right? Yes, honey... Tony, turn-off the damn computer! Yes, honey (gladly) .

Ciao.

Ummmmmm..........

Tony, Peter is the one who started this thread, so I would consider editing your post. And he has even show it in public...so I have a hard time believing it is as secret as you would suggest. My personal feeling is that he was a little premature in his post about the product and it has not tested out to be as promising as he would like so he is backing off on the release.

A little explanation of what's coming and what to expect......

The M7 AGS consist of a multitude of parts everything from T-bolt hose clamps
vaccume connectors and a new wiring harness with custom plugs.
The system consist of 16 seperate parts, all engineerd to make the install
as intuitive and easy as possible.

So what can you expect performance wise from the AGS, as it outflows any
system currently on the market by a margin. The difference is amazing
as the engine will rev faster and more freely.

We will have all the Dyno charts and flow tests available very soon....

Ok, you just got me to log back-in

Please read again... I didn't say "this" thread:

"I don't recall anywhere in this thread or the one that brought this into NAM's attention..."

"A NAM member starts a thread on his AGS..."

He has shown it here, started this thread, in response to that other one... vaporware concerns and all... Without that other thread, this one would not have happened, or at least it would not have started as early as it otherwise did. It was not his plan, with this, as it is with the other future products that he has sucessfully managed to keep under wraps for several months... Heck, there have been just as many delays in other products, if not more, we are just not aware of them (like the AGS)

As a vendor here on NAM, life can be a *****......your screwed if you do
and you are certainly screwed if you don't.

And I really love reading the monday morning quarter backers, who must have been in my office reading my latest dyno charts and airflow numbers, as they
know something that I don't.

There's no unexpected problems with hp that's holding us back or other
you insert the problem ( ) with the AGS.

One of our units will be installed at a large event next week, sorry can't say
where right now, and units will be available shortly after.

I guess you're forgetting the post on M7 web site. I think it went "Coming Soon" and was dated in Oct.... Same time as a revolutionary pully was listed.

I know stuff happens. And it's a business they can run like they want to. And that a lot of thier product is good. But from my business experience, M7 could do a better job of managing expectations.... I don't mean this as a bash or mud-slinging, just as some constructive criticism.

Still waiting patiently for the numbers.....
