Hi MrBlah, how do you like the dominator cams? What made you choose it instead of the 469 catcams? Thanks

I got it years ago before the catcam was even available. I really like the dominator I think it's about the same if not the same cam as the pH2 from Newman unless you're really chasing a dyno number the cam puts the power at a really good spot for autocross

Did you tune afterwards? How is your idle? Are you using 550cc injectors?would you say it is good for the track too? Thanks

the cam is good for the track & autocross

Yes I got a tune, and I ordered 550cc injectors, cam, & tune from jan, the package deal. What I got was 621cc injectors and a VERY overly rich tune that never ran right, on the dyno I had missfires it was so rich, afr 10.5, on the track it shot flames regularly on heal toe and sometimes up shifting, I also lost the burble that late r53's all had, I was more upset about that than the overly rich tune....

I had jan adjust it twice but it was still too rich, car would not startup when hot without holding gas pedal down, injector scaling was never fixed right and jan was not responsive. I gave up on him and had Natase fix it. Turns out the injector scaling was still set for 550's instead of the 621cc he shipped me. Now I have the burble back, and more power

Thanks, I already ordered 550s from FCP and my bytetronik can easily scale my ecu so no problem there, and there’s always Natase if fine tuning is needed. Just can’t decide whether to get rmw/newman dominator or catcam 469. Don’t really know the difference. I hear quality issues with the RMW one and Jan is unresponsive. I don’t want to deal with that. WMWs cam is more expensive and don’t know if and how it is any better than catcam.

Did you also do the VGS mod?

I dinged my tubes but I feel cylinder 1 needs more dinging as it showed some marks on the wall. Do your have these discoloration as seen in the picture? Should I worry about this and redo the camshaft job? Driven the car maybe 200 miles, pulled hard and showed no problems, no noise etc. I’d greatly appreciate the input as I don’t want to do the job all over again seeing you didn’t even ding yours.
