I have a 2006 cooper s cabrio in which I plan to mod next year. I love my car and I want to make her even sweeter by adding this stage 3 mod kit to her. What are your opinions on this package? I wont be doing any of the labor. Here's a link to the page with all the upgrades.

Ever since I read that thread I've been pretty put off of madness stuff altogether, although I never even had any of their stuff to begin with. Personally I'd just research and pick parts individually as opposed to trying to buy them all in a kit.

I too would research & buy parts ad hoc; skip the package. For one thing, the package as listed on their site does not seem to include a shorter SC pulley belt. They also include a coil pack & wires, which depending on what/who you read, is superfluous since the OEM does the job well. Another thought: what exhaust are they including, how does it sound? Does it drone, how loud is it, etc.? Just my $0.02.

I would look at RMW, Sneed4speed, WMW, or Outmotoring personally.

+1 on RMW & WMW. Have used both multiple times myself and am always 100% satisfied with parts, price, and service.

Build your own "stage 3" package, and save a bundle. Like others have said, this allows you to choose individual components based on personal preference. There's nothing wrong with the package you linked to, but you're married to those parts.

Whatever you do, please, don't just buy a 17% pulley and throw it on there. There's a reason that any good "stage" package upgrades intake and exhaust at the same time as a boost increase.

I call on RMW for making my power. 17%, jcw CAI, stock exhaust, cam. RMW tune. 227hp/204tq. Maybe I could have made a little more power if I had a header, whatever, the car is quick. Only up at 7300+ did the exhaust start to choke things.

Whatever you do, start by making sure your motor is in the best shape it can be before you go adding power.

Aside from the CAI/pulley concept of upgrades, consider two of the best handling mods you can make for the money, i.e. the heavier adjustable rear sway bar and a set of KONI FSD struts and a pair of strut tower plates. Right now Motoringwerks has FSDs at nearly half price if I read it correctly (yes, I did).

Not to sound like a broken record, but it's better to build your own package to pick and choose the specific brands and parts that suit your needs best. And yes, it will be cheaper believe it or not to buy separately.
