Madness Ripoff continues

They advertise and used to sell this product(V2)

They are now selling this for 899.00 2012-13 Ebay 200.00 (numerous vendors)

They sold this for 899.00 in 2011 Ebay 152.00(not available anymore)

There are many owners that can attest that they did not recieve what they thought they were buying. The advertised header, and were told a number of reason why it was not the advertised one after purchase.

This company should be avoided Buyer beware.......

Welcome to free enterprise?!?! Not sure it's a rip off, but obviously it pays to shop around.

Free enterprise is one thing, this seems to be a horse of a different color, though.

The picture on the MM website is far different than what ships to your door. They seem to deny the fact that they are different, and that the part numbers on the box differ... Add that to the fact that exact header that ships to your door is available in many other places for under 1/4 of the price... something is wrong.

I've got to agree with you there..even if there is a disclaimer about website pics being just "Representative"....

MM has had many ups and downs over the years....a bit of a checkered past...folks with tunes that SUPER lean with their kits, spotty performance, and cases like this...all seem to pop up regularly. It is a shame....since the name change it seems more common..wonder if they got a big bill from MINI for legal fees related to the forced namechage, leading to some MORE iffy business practices?

Very disappointing! George needs to buy that thing back from you. This is not a case of 'you get what you paid for" in fact this is a case of "I did not deliver you the product I represented I was selling" Shame Shame now do the right thing.

I have bought stuff from them and never had any issues. I hope MM can chime in to clear this issue.

madness switched on me too

pretty simple.

I ordered this:

and got this:

I asked about it in an email and was told that the "ones on ebay are garbage" so, I believed and installed it any way. I should have sent it back immediately. but now I guess I'm stuck not only with less than what I was expecting but having paid 5x more than what I could have.

here's what it looks like on my Mini. does that look like what's on the MM web site???

OP, aside from these issues with MM, how do you like the headers? I'd like some headers but the price of others is a bit steep.

Not in this case. He got screwed by someone who represented one thing and delivered another. George committed a crime and should buy it back. This header should have been returned not installed.

This is exactly why you have to shop around. I also agree he should of never installed it and sent it back. Maybe you can deny the charges on your CC and see what can be done. If you can't, not to be rude chalk this up as a lesson. You need to treat the world like Burger King " When you are paying you have it your way"

I wonder if Madness MINI is owned by MINI Mania as they both have ridiculous prices.

Post 21 and still no one chiming in from MM? I have to say that installed header is different from the MM site. That differences in prices is food on the table or beer if you are on liquid diet .

For the price of their cheap header at a ridiculous price you could of had a SuperSprint header. http://www.autobahnpower.com/products.asp?recnumber=723
http://www.eurosportdesign.com/p-581...t-headers.aspx

Then you would of known you got a quality piece. This will hurt their business by all this negative publicity.

I agree with most of your comments. I know I should not have installed it. My excuse is I was all ready and excited to add this new part. weak, but that's it.

That said, BEFORE I installed it I sent a message that said, "hey, this looks just like one on Ebay for 1/5 the price. I hope it's not the same."
The response I received: "it's not. the ebay stuff is garbage". If it's not the same then, the real issue is it doesn't look like the picture advertised. If it IS the same then it's not just false advertising, it's lying.

kind of like the horse meat in beef issue. Is it false advertising calling it beef? Or is it lying saying there's no horse meat in the product when asked straight up?

finally, I wrote a review of the V2 header on the MM web site on Monday. it has not been posted, yet. here's the terms for the reviews:
● Allow 3 to 5 days for us to review and approve your review.
● Negative posts are allowed, but please do not use offensive or abusive language.
● We reserve the right to edit offensive content, up to and including refusing to post a review that is offensive or abusive.

let's see if my review will get posted.

George will not chime in because it is the truth. He used to make and sell a quality product and made a name for himeself. Like too many once they make a name, they begin to get greedy..

Madness is out of Beaverton Oregon
