+2, Everything Mike says is spot on and he is really being nice, I think it is important to know this is strictly a buyer beware issue. As most know you can only see 10% of an iceberg at sea. Your only seeing the 10%.

This lasted 2 weeks before the strap broke. I had to have the shop weld a solid bar between the pipes to keep the tips apart. The exhaust looked nothing like the pictures on the website. I emailed George and sent him pictures and he said he would make it right on my next order. Obviously I didn't buy from him again. I do like the sound of the exhaust though.
It was more likley this... only 400% profit. To buy from him is MADNESS......Just light your money on fire..

Yeah....
This thread provided MM with an chance to say sorry, we switched suppliers, etc..and to make an offer to the buyer to make it right, AND UPDATE the WEBSITE!!
Since NONE of this was done, AND I BET 100% this thread is getting read by MM, you can only say it is a calculated risk....to get a 400+% return.
Folks do have to make a few $$, and that is fine...I just want to GET WHAT I SEE!!
MM can sell a exhaust made out of beer cans and a header made of stove pipes for $10,000, handmade in North Elbonia if they want, just don't show a picture of a quality item, then ship the non-conforming junk part....

As a NON-Responsive vendor...why is he still a sponsor?
And his name was NEVER changed...think it is an ISSUE with MINI?!

This is a good thread as a caution to other vendors in the community to do better not only in their advertisement but all the way to delivery to customers.

This thread might also be a caution to those who think that they can get a good quality part for 1/5... 1/4 cost. Cheap out your ride at your peril.

In this case, you pay 1/4 price for the same quality, so!

Haha, this is kind of eye-opening. Madness was one of the first companies I ordered from when I first got my car back in '05(Didn't start modding til a few years later but you can check my sig line). I have quite a few products of theirs on my car. I guess you can say I'm quite the 'dummy' but yeah, I have the V2 header AND exhaust. For a few years everything was cool... then my cat started throwing CEL codes, the bracket that held the tips together needed to be welded back together, I just had the secondary resonator deleted and put a straight pipe put in due to a rattle(shop said it was bad), and yup, just today I'm having the flex pipe replaced because of an odd kink in the center section which has cut air flow by half. Oh yeah, and the tips(they do have the Madness print on it) have been rusting up the past few years.

I mean at this point, after all these years, I know it has really been on me since I decided to start modding parts on my car. The funny thing is, all the other Madness products I have on the car excluding the exhaust have been fine and dandy. I will say though, when I drove to CA, I did get a tune from Jan at RMW using the Madness mods on my car and I got some pretty strong numbers at the time(their in my sig), even Jan was impressed. I'm not claiming it was solely due to the Madness stuff but it helped in exhaust flow. So the exhaust works, even sounds pretty good, just apparently I got 'majorly ripped off' with the price. I'm just over it, sorry you guys are getting shoddy stuff.

I think we're somewhat missing the point. Well, my point anyway. And that is, If you advertise one thing and provide another - bad.
If you advertise one thing, provide another and when confronted you say "no that's not what you think it is" - shame on you.
If you expect one thing, get another, and don't immediately do something about it - your a fool. (guilty as charged).

there should be a fortune cookie in here somewhere...

I didn't even know NM was going down, but maybe that's a good thing I am not going with their tune then.

He said MM, not NM. Madness Motorworks (formally MINI Madness).

Pretty sure that George doesn't sell tunes (I may be wrong).

Buy ebay when you can. It has saved me on shipping cost and if you find a good seller they usually ship from manafacturer. A good Alta distrubutor on ebay is streetrays....he does free shipping, and its usually about 10 bucks cheaper than listed on manafacturer site. Buy name brands, our minis deserve well crafted parts! Do your homework, research your mods before buying.
