MM used to tune ECUs too but even that was questionable. (Not a real tune like RMW / Mynes)

Do your homework, research your mods before buying.
And be very careful doing this. There are a ton of knockoffs out there.

just an update for all those following this thread.
1. my review of the "V2 header" never got published on the MM web site.
2. I filed a dispute with my CC company 2 weeks ago. the vendor has something like 30-45 days to respond. I haven't heard anything from the CC or from MM.

Personally I don't think George cares what is published here. Back in 09, I experienced a similar problem with a different product. MM has a slick website and quality looking products but just because a vendor is listed on NAM does not mean you should not check references with friends and other vendors. In my case I learned an my lesson. I was discussing the experience with another NAM vendor and he quickly stated he quit doing business with MM years earlier due to delivery issues and product quality. Over the years I have ordered thousands of dollars in parts from other NAM vendors without any problems or disappointments.

end of the line

Aright, well, I heard back from the cc company today. They can not rule in my favor in this dispute because I still have the product. fair enough I suppose. once again, I should have followed my instincts when I first opened the box and returned the header. so, now I'm the proud owner of a "MINI MADNESS V2 HEADER" that I paid $899 for which looks exactly like this one:

02-06 Mini Cooper S R53 M2 Performance Stainless Steel Headers Exhaust 03 04 05 : Amazon.com : Automotive 02-06 Mini Cooper S R53 M2 Performance Stainless Steel Headers Exhaust 03 04 05 : Amazon.com : Automotive

that you can get on Amazon for the bargain price of $180

This joke's on me. thanks George!

Wow, I am quite amazed at what I've been reading here, considering I bought their parallelagram-shaped Chassis Brace last year. I have not had any issues with the Chassis brace itself, but it's also a product I've heard from other NAMers as a good alternative to the X-Cross Brace.

I was considering buying their exhaust from them, but I think I'm going the Stratmosphere/Milltek route instead, although I'm still deciding.

Sadly George's customer service has gone to hell and where I once endorsed him, I no longer will. My advice is to go a different route for your exhaust. If you have a problem, there is no guarantee that he will be around for you later. Hell, he hasn't even tried to defend himself on this thread.

Ordered a Milltek exhaust with a DDMworks CAI yesterday. Have to say I'm quite nervous because this will be the sound I'll have to live with for years, but I'm sure i'll love it in the end. That's the issue with audio clips on YouTube, you never get the full range of sound from a measly mono microphone.

The milteck/stratous is a nice sound imo...
About the deapest, non ricyest sound for a mini, and no drone. Nice choice!!
I have been on the edge trying to justify it...no just waiting for the oem to rust out!!
Nice intake too! Glad this thread is having an impact on the sales of the part involved....maybe he will chime in....
But like i said, it seems like a calculated risk....
He make $$ for years...now exposed!!

Thats great but just curious to why you added to this thread about MM being a ripoff? Was it because of this thread you went elsewhere?

Well, I had not heard about this situation concerning Madness Motorworks until this thread, so I started lurking around because I had considered the Madness Motorworks exhaust system for my MINI. After hearing some of the complaints from folks about the quality and such, I changed my decision and went with Stratmosphere. Like I said in an earlier post, I have bought their Chassis Brace which I'm perfectly happy with, and top that off with the M7 strut brace and Cabrio cross brace, handling has definitely improved. Not to mention I have a set of 16x7 Rota RBs w/ the Continental ExtremeContact DW.

In the past, I've ordered from MiniMania, MossMini, OutMotoring, WMW, FastMini, and of course Madness Motorworks. I don't really have any beefs with any of those groups. OutMotoring did at one point send me the wrong Oil (wanted transmission oil, but they sent engine oil), but sending it back and exchanging it was a breeze.

Based on MY personal experiences with Madness Motorworks, I have NOT had a bad experience, but the hearing about the exhaust system got me worried. Like I said, I bought their Chassis Brace and I'm loving it, so mileage will vary for others.

Does that answer your question? Sort of?

There are many owners that can attest that they did not recieve what they thought they were buying. The advertised header, and were told a number of reason why it was not the advertised one after purchase.

This company should be avoided Buyer beware.......
