I just received this message from Dan at BFP regarding the status of the CF Cold Air Intake System, I know there are many of you waiting for the latest news so here it is, sounds like he's getting really, really close. You'll be breathing a whole lot easier though once you get yours installed:

You are marked down as our 3rd customer to receive a kit. We have had a BIG problem with the supplier of the downpipe to the kit (From the airbox to the throttle body). We have literally 30 kits ready to go except for that part, and we are looking at alternatives for the short term. Please keep hanging on! We will have this kit shortly!

What exactly is so special about this cold air intake as opposed to the others on the market? and do they make it for the MC?

The last time I had contact with BFP (about 2 weeks ago) I was told they have one more part to receive from a vendor and then they will have inventory to ship.
I don't see any reason why not, the BFP CAI wouldn't fit a regular MC, but you better confirm that with them before purchasing. :smile:

 

I received an update this afternoon from the folks at BFP. If you are interested in one of these puppies here is what they said:

1) To get on the list, simply send us an email with your intent to purchase. We are keeping a list that we will email back. When we reach 30 people we will start a second batch list.

2) The system will not fit a regular (non-S) MINI.

We do not have a ship date as of today.

 

I sent an e-mail to the sales@ address. Is that the right one? If not, what e-mail address should I send it to?

Price?

 

I believe there are two or three versions, each one gets more complex and so does the price. The most advanced one is around $700.00 I think, the other two are much less, check out this earlier post from BFP for more details:
