Detroit Tuned tuning party 2013(RMW)
Hello to all the Midwest MINI drivers!
I've been in talks with Detroit Tuned to get this tuning party setup. Last summer was supposed to be the event for Revolution Motor Works(RMW) to come on up to tune our MINIs. That NEVER happened because not many people are or were interested at that time.
Now we have the chance to make this happen this year! But we need people to put a deposit down(money back if it doesn't happen), and to make this thing really happen! I am posting here on NAM for the Midwest people who would want to make the drive to Michigan at Detroit Tuned.
We need 10 or more people to put a deposit down and so far two people are for sure putting a deposit down to make this happen! We have one of the guys who works at Detroit Tuned and myself! I am posting this on the Michigan Club website and on my Facebook to make this happen
.
If you are interested please private message me and we can get this thing moving ASAP! As long as we get enough people(10), then we can have this sometime in July or beginning of August!
And for the N18 owners, trust me, I would hate to send in my ECU. I came to this alternative which is better since I can dyno!
Price as follows:
R53-$350
R56(N14 & N18)-$500
**For the N18, it is confirmed Jan can only tune pre-Feb or pre-March 2012. If you need to find out, email him(best way of getting a quick answer).
Dyno time(flat rate)-$200
If we can get at least 10 people within the next two weeks, we can have Jan come out by July!
So lets get this going!

Some of my local MINI gang got RMW tuned at MOTD and love the result.

Thanks Shane. Trust me I can see how hard it really is to get people together, even though we need only 8 more since TJ and I are ready to get this done. If you know anybody, please tell them about this and to call Detroit Tuned, I'd really appreciate it.
I live in the area and would love to take part in this, unfortunately I have a 2013 which Jan is unable to tune.

If you are close enough to drive to Detroit, it is worth the trip. Detroit Tuned is a 3 hour drive for me and I have made the trip several times. Well worth it. Chad's the man.
Plus you have Jan tuning your car. Can't lose.
Make a weekend of it. Catch a Tigers game if they are in town. Hit the Casinos.

I agree it'd be definitely worth it! Just need 8 people to put their deposit down. Trust me I'm just as excited since its a tune that can be dyno tuned, but it all depends on who's willing to do it and who's up for the drive if they don't live in Michigan lol.
Plus we could have food, drinks, hit the casinos and enjoy the time getting the tune done to our cars.
I guess we'll see what happens.

Man... I really would be interested in a Jan tune but getting away 5 hours to Detroit with 500 (possibly 700) bucks on less than 2 months notice is gonna be rough. Plus I'm trying to do a turbo swap, so I'm not really sure getting a stock turbo tune right now is the best idea. :-(
I'm swapping out to a compressor that will actually maintain the boost pressure I have now over 4500rpm.
Everyone knows the stock 37mm Cooper S turbo is asthmatic. When someone wants to do a larger turbo swap it doesn't automatically mean they want to run 30psi. Some people are actually calm with their cars.

So I had someone PM me, and I should probably spill exactly what's going on right now.
So I spoke to Chad at DT, he said the dyno is gonna be numerous runs such as, my N18 MCS would have to take 11-15 runs to squeeze out the potential with my mods for the tune. As for the N14s not so much and the R53's.
He said today he sent out an email to Jan when he can make time available exactly. Realistically we are looking end of August, beginning of September. Which is fine by me, cause weather won't be so humid when dyno runs are done. I will post up information as soon as I receive it from Chad.
As for the dyno, people are asking about the $200. Well if we get more than 10 people that dyno money will probably go down a little less. Depends what Chad at DT can do. He said its gonna cost $2,000.00 for him to rent it.
Remember, this tune work for N18s prior February build(or March, I forgot which month). As for others, not ALL deposits have to be collected, half can be submitted the day of the tuning party at DT.
Hopefully this gives people a better idea of what's gonna happen.

Tune Party
Thank You to Rob for all the work he has put into this. The Tune Party at Detroit tuned will be Sept 14/15 weekend if we get enough deposits. Prices are posted by Rob in the 1st of this thread. Dyno costs will go down if we get more people. Jan can do N18's yes, but they take ALOT of extra time and there are risks. Doing these on the road is not a real option. N14 Turbo MINI's will be no problem though. Call Detroit Tuned to make your arrangements. 586-792-6464
