Drivetrain What kind of power do you think
What kind of power do you think
My goal is I want to make over 200 whp with my 04 mcs I am ordering a 17% pulley light weight flywheel msd ignition with colder plugs jcw 330 injectors alta cai jcw exhaust and a tune what's your guys opinion any other advice you can give me from experience?
Try JCW 380's...hope the jcw330 is a misprint.....older jcw cars(pre2005, without the jcw210 kit) were sold with stock injectors....so i hope you did not get screwed on the purchase....
Might need a cam or headder...a low mile car eith a good engine CAN hit 200 with those mods...but as the miles and age add up.....becomes more unlikely.
The important thing is a safe tune.....
How many miles on the car? Compression readings?
And you know a lightweight FLYWHEEL does MAKE more power but just changes throttle response right...let tge motor rev quicker, but not actually MAKE more hp. Guess if you are doing a clutch, might as well if you can put up will the lightweight flywheel on hill starts and heavy traffic....

Would suggest a NEW 532 or 535 length belt...alta ships with a belt that is a bit too long and will slip.
You plan sounds pretty sound, depending on miles, 200 was a good estimate for a 40,000 mile car that was 4 ish years old....now with a 10 year old car, condition matters much more.....but if healthy, 190-200 is a good guess if at sealevel on an HONEST dyno...some brands always read hi...remember, a dyno is more of a before and after tool....to see tha gain, than the actual hp....

It sounds like it will be hard to get 200 out of it it has 90k on it now and I was planing on going with that belt I heard the alta one slipped but I am also in Ohio I haven't ordered anything yet so if anyone has suggestion please say so I would appreciate it

Bang for the buck, i would keep the stock coil, unless you have corrosion on the plugs...mine did, but several tuners say stock is actually a better coil.
I would take the $$ saved, and install a bigger rear swaybar...
Intake comes down to preference...all about the same gain. Pulley choice is a bit of a crapshoot.....i like the 17% for my driving style....but folks that like to redline/auto-x, MIGHT do better with a 15...
pure numbers asside, you build propsed build is close to mine, but a year older, so no coated sc. But i was right at 200 hp on a 100°+ day at sealevel...on a pretty harsh dyno that most said read low...
But numbers aside, the gains in drivability ARE amazing. At 200 hp, not sure i would want/need more hp unless it was just to brag...i mean my car has been a good, 100% reliable daily driver since my tune, great on the street, lots of tourqe down low compared to stock.
With some mods, you loose "drivability", meaning the car is not as easy or fun to drive...
Lighweight flywheels are in that group, cams can add great mid or upper range power, and a bigvalve head can head, move the tq band even higher....more like a race car, but not as great on the street.
So i decided i wanted good reliability, and just more of the MINI feel i already liked.
Added a swaybar to make turns more fun, and WOW, a blast to drive.
Just pick your goal...power to brag about a number, a highstrung race car, etc, and go from there.
many folks here with tons of "been there, done that" for advise to help give you info!!

As you know, every engine is slightly different. If you've been blessed with a strong runner from the factory, then it should be achievable.
I cracked the 200 whp barrier with only a 15% reduction pulley, Alta intake, cat-back exhaust from Milltek, and tune from Jan (RMW). Jan did say that my engine was "pretty strong" for one with stock internals. That was a nice bonus.
No injectors, no cam, no aftermarket head or pistons. All external, bolt-on stuff.
