Dealers won't do it. Is a "non-serviceable" item.
I already asked, several times. They will simply refuse :(

Chances are you won't find a shop to do it. Check this thread out.

If you were going to change out your waterpump and thermostat, that would be an excellent time to do it.

They might, but i wouldn't have anyplace that doesn't frequently service minis ever attempt it. If you have some basic mechanical skills it could be done yourself.

Who at the dealership told you this? Speak to the service manager about this. You want to have someone that knows what they are talking about working on your car.

Find a new dealer then. I see you are in NJ, call Carolyn at Prestige MINI she knows her stuff.

Sounds like a person in the service department that has supercharger and turbocharger mixed up....hope they are not allowed within 10 feet of a car or a parts counter!! Too bad they are allowed to talk to a customer.....

Lol...my thoughts exactly!!
it is amazing how little knowledge some folks can have, then act like they know it all....
i know what i know...but when i don'tfor sure know, i say, not sure, might, etc....
with new mini dealers around, mant that have never sold a gen1 car, i guess this type of issue will become more common.....

Would be so much better if they would make more of an effort to hire folks in sales and service who actually own/drive one....

Honestly, it's like taking advice from a two year old when they don't know much about the car......
