See, my JCW already had the newer type on it. Thats actually the EU type of manifold. It gives noticeable gains if you are moving over from the US version.
This exhaust manifold is the OEM fJCW part and everyone can find it in a local dealer...!!!
Noticeable gains??? what do you mean? How did you find that it gives noticeable gains? What tests did you do?

Why do you think its a JCW part? Because it gives gains.
I know because a buddy of mine has an '09 JCW and had the older fat version. We put this part in and the butt dyno could definitely tell a difference.
Almost pulled the trigger on one of those manifolds.....just can't warrant completely tearing down the front end just for that part unless it makes a huge difference...which I have no idea if it does or not.
At least in this case it works out for you since the turbo HAD to be removed.

Thanks for all the photos
It really is an easy install it is just time consuming. Stop being a pansy go for it.

Agreed. I did it with having absolutely ZERO experience working on cars. I have done it twice now. Just take your time, label all of your parts in plastic baggies, and take pictures if you need to. A Bentley manual helps as well. And it DEFINITELY makes a difference.
Porthos, an easier way to have gotten the new mani back in would be to attach the turbo prior to putting it in so that you can easily get the torque right. This is why service mode is so useful. My turbo/mani went in all as one piece. All of the studs are still accessible so there really isnt much of a reason NOT to do it this way. Also, make sure you remember to use thread locker on the mani/turbo bolts. I forgot and had 3 of the bolts back themselves off causing a massive exhaust leak. It wasnt pretty

There in lies a problem, I don't have a turbo right now. Also I have crows feet so getting the turbo back on won't be a problem. Noted on the thread lock.
Well halfway done with the HFS4 install. The turbo will come in next Thursday for a Friday install and hopefully a Saturday tune. Wiring is a little crazy so I had my wiring guru friend come over and do it up for me. All in all it was a short day same with tomorrow.
Here is a picture of my Braille battery if anyone is interested in what it looks like installed.
