Sorry it's been a really long day.

I knew that... I'm just going to hide in a corner now.

Nice job so far and good luck with the build. What did you use to mount the battery?

Did you ever measure the ports on the new manifold to see if they were larger?

So I did not take the manifold back off to measure it. I just wanted to locktite and call it a night, it has been a ruff week.

So I got the meth kit installed. The turbo was suppose to come in but, I missed it so I am picking it up in the morning from UPS. I need to go make a parts run for some misc bolts and a new battery cover tray. The original just took a crap. Also when I was in the back over the weekend I decided to take the seat belts out since I have no intention of putting the back seats in. Save a pound or so each.

Also I know my filter is jacked up. It fell off and got crushed and I have not got around to replacing it yet.

Well I got everything back together this evening but, it is running a little rough at the moment and threw a bunch of codes. I need to check the coolant in the morning and take it for a test drive also. I also need to trouble shoot the meth kit as it is not working properly.

I got a new deck as the last one crater on me when I was installing it. Look its all nice and shiney new.

New Turbo(same one just cleaned up and upgraded.)

Everything is up and running now with no codes and running smooth as hell. Just need to have a tune put on it and I will be terrorizing the skreets.

Yeah I got to call him tomorrow. I have kind of not given him a good time and I wonder if he will do it on MLK day or not.

Not to hijack the thread, but I noticed you are in or near Kaiserslautern, Germany. Nice ittle town with some nice restaraunts. I was TDY at Ramstein for a short while and got into Kaiserslautern a couple times while I was there. It is a really nice area around there.

I just had the same manifold installed on my 2009 R56. Very nice addition.

Great to hear! Mine is being installed along with Helix SS and NM box cover, TSW springs with H-sport control arms, TSW X-brace and NM upper tie bar (maybe SS break lines) on the 1st of Feb. After a couple months to replenish the coffers, the ECU goes out to NM for a stage 2 tune.

Looks good, Porthos. What is it that gpop puts on the turbo? Looks like a coating of some sort. Ceramic?

I had Way do a Stage 2 tune on mine back in December. I drove up there to have it done along with a few other things. The tune took about 30 minutes. In the meanwhile, I had the oil changed, lower temperature range NGK spark plugs installed, and had my Helix lower controls arms swapped out with a set of NM Engineering Titanium lower control arms. Way and I even had some time to stand around and shoot the bull for a while.

As far as SS brake lines go, I have a set on my MINI and I have a set to go on my wife's MCS soon. I highly recommend them.

Whoa, Titaniums! And I thought I was spending some cash!!! I have had a few occasions to hang with Way (as I will 1 Feb).

I spent some time in K-town during command visits to a GI I had in Mannheim prison. I spent 4 1/2 years in Bamburg.

I think so but when I touched it some of it cam off on my finger, though it still was on the turbo also.

One of the issues I was having after firing the car back up was that a bunch of codes got thrown. I think most of it was the fact that it had been sitting so it needed to relearn everything. Also it threw a vacuum leak code which I narrowed down to the PCV hose from the valve cover to the intake manifold. The thing was completely busted up. So instead of going stock replacement I cut the rest of the hose off all the way to the connectors and went and bought rubber hose to fit over the connectors, then put some clamps on it, and reinstalled. My problem with that on was fixed but, I still had a cel with no code. After driving it for a little bit I found that the water/meth kit has to be all the time right now until I get a tune to run with and without.

I will be having my turbo rebuilt soon, through GPop Shop. Most likely going the k04 hybrid route. Apparently my thrust bearings are failing at only 98,000 miles :(

When you reinstalled the rebuilt turbo, are there any small minor steps which might have been glossed over? I've heard of people referring to "priming" the turbo before starting the engine. If not, it is a very straight forward procedure!

Good to see your project come along without (too much) error.

Just make sure that you have a new washer in there also make sure everything is tight. I did not prime the turbo when I did it. I knew nothing about that. It fired right up though it jsut threw a bunch of codes which cleared out.
