Drivetrain So the teardown begins

Sorry I have not updated this thread. I really haven't seen the car until Friday. I took it to my local mechanic the week after I last posted to have them install my KWV2s and Vorshlag camber plates. Also I asked if they good figure out why it is boost cutting and throwing a check engine light. Well as they were road testing it the hood flew up and busted the windshield out. So the shop replaced both the hood and the windshield free of charge. They disconnected my meth kit (which I am now going to have to reattach once it is tuned) to find out if that might have been causing the problem. It was not the problem. I put them in contact with Jan which they got a hold of him once and not a whole lot was really worked out. I repeatedly called Jan with no answer and no return call. So I decide to go elsewhere. I talked to my friend Dez who works with a gentlemen by the name of Huby who has been tuning MINIs for about 10 years now. Huby and I thought it would be in my best interest to flash the car back to stock. Well I had the shop do it and they placed on the most up to date software on my MINI. Well with some coordination I met with Huby last night for a street tune. The bad part was that Dimsport did not have the software update to be able to tune my car. So Huby copied it and sent it off in hopes of having it today or tomorrow. In the mean time I took it out to an Auto Cross event put on by the local BMW chapter and had a blast. I ran a faster lap with my car going into limp mode then with it running normal. If I did not do this I would have probably lit my MINI on fire today because I am completely wore out over this whole boost cut and tune issues. Though I do know now why it does it and that is another whole conversation for another day.
I had this same problem three years ago with Mynes tuning. Dealer flashed the most up to date software onto my ECU about a month before a tuning party in my hometown and I couldn't get a tune when I got to the party. Talk about a buzz kill. I eventually just went with Evolve and have been very happy.
Okay but, I do not want a canned tune. I have been trying now for 2 years to get a dyno tune to fit what I have done to the car. And no data logging is not the same.
easiest way to do it is setup a dyno time with Evolve. The earlier in the day you can do the better (they are about 6 hours ahead) If you have any questions you can email alex@evolveautomotive.com he can coordinate it for you
Hubie is going to be calling me today to let me know if Firday will be a good day becuase he got all the stuff back from Dimsport. Evolve would be great but, that is a back up if Hubie falls through. Also here is a photo from Auto cross over the weekend.
Question: When your latest mechanic(the one that busted up your windshield) disconnected your meth kit to see if it was the cause of the boost cut/CEL, did they resolder the ECU wastegate wire? Simply disconnecting the brown/white wire from the meth kit isn't sufficient(as I found out from Richard) to get rid of the boost cut/CEL.

So I figure it has been a little too long since I have updated. I am finishing having the carbon cleaned out and the water/meth hooked up. I am going to do a track day Saturday at Streets of Willow. I test drove it at the shop about 2 weeks ago with no boost cut issues. That includes putting it into 6th at 30ish and flooring it. After the track day I am pulling the ECU and mailing it to PAW in Miami to have it tuned. I realized that MINI tuners(the popular ones) can be a bunch of jack asses and now I after being blown off several times I can no longer back certain parts or companies, namely RMW.
I am currently trying to set a customer remote tune up with Evolve. My biggest hurdle is finding someone local in Michigan with a Bavarian Technic tool or similar to read boost & ignition parameters from my car. All I would need to do from there is find a Dynojet facility, set up a morning live meeting with Evolve and away we go. I think i'm just going to buy the tool since I'm obviously in with this car for the long term. I'd be a bloody fool to get rid of my toy after so many hours making it my own. Good thing my mid-life crisis is a very long ways away.
Why would PAW not follow through? I'm going with them since they're basically the same as RennTech.
