The only response I received from Dan @ Pilo is to open the gap by .10. What's the exact gap for the Denso IK22 plugs when use in conjunction with Pilo ignition?

I kept them where they were pre-gapped. Randy Webb put them in for me.

Anyone at the Friday afternoon session of the Richmond pulley party will remember this.

I installed the accel u-grooves with my Pilo coil. I opened the gap on the plugs to what I thought was .65 using a plug gap tool. It seems I don't know properly how to use that piece of equiptment as when Randy removed my plugs to install the IK22 densos it was noticed and measured with calipers that i had in fact opened them to .89 . Hey, what can I say, the car ran fine.

To more answer your question, it has been recommended by several good sources not open the gap, that in fact the Pilo coil would provide a more powerful spark under needed circumstances without a wider gap. So as a result I am running my densos at standard gap.

Hope that helped.

Went from .065 to .044 seemed to run a bit rough at higher rpm's. Spoke with Nology at length learned a thing or 2 and went down to 44. Others have had probs running big gaps on the denso's. best to leave it stock gap or go about 10 over.
Nology's
IK22's
Pilo coil pack
Can only speak of these three together other combo's may vary

I have the same combination: Pilo, Denso IK22s, Nology. I have left
the gap as they came out of the box. My car idles great, it actually
went down almost 100rpm when I made the change. The car also
seemed to have a slightly different sound...slightly deeper or throaty.
This is my only experience with Denso plugs.

Thank you all for sharing your experiences!

I also have Nology wires and Pilo ignition coil, but currently using colder NGK plugs that came with JCW kit. I'm still debating if I should install the IK22, which has been sitting in the garage for a while now.

I have Nology's, Pilo coil, and Denso IK22's. I left the plugs with the "out of the box" gapping, just checked to make sure they were consistent. Vrroooom!

Considering that the Denso's have that very fine needle tip electrode, I was highly concerned about adjusting the gap. Randy at www.webbmotorsports told me that they are pre-gapped from the factory so I did not even bother to check.

My MINi runs more smoothly with them, that's for sure.
