Drivetrain Anyone have dyno results - HP & Torque, for Scorpion on MCS?
I want better breathing but with only nominal increase in sound and cheap price. Scorpion may be solution, but I haven't seen any objective data. Anyone have this info? I would have posted on Exhaust topic but all the pictures makes it too long to load.
I was never able to find any dyno results for this system while I was researching it. The system has a good design (mandrel bends with dual exhausts in parallel), so I believe it will flow about as good as any other aftermarket system.
It may not be a perfect system, but the price makes it the best performance value IMHO

Thank;s for your response. Don't you think it does seem to look like the JCW exhaust? The JCW is criticized for lack of power. Just wondering cause I like the price but if it only gives you 3 horses, it's hardly worth it. The one-ball would be better value. That's why I'm trying to get info.
I agree that the JCW looks similar to the Scorpion, but I don't know what the interior muffler design is of either, so they mey or may not flow the same. Either way, the real bottlenecks in the exhaust path are the exhaust ports on the head followed by the stock header. Since the stock header has a 2.25" outlet, a 2.5" system like the Magnaflow is overkill unless you plan on headwork & a new header.
Plus, the dyno results for various MCS exhaust systems are all over the place and all of the independent results I've seen have shown minimal gains.
I think the best you can do from a performance standpoint is pick a system with a good design. While the 1-ball might be cheaper than the Scorpion, it has a poor muffler design in terms of flow. For me, the additional cost to obtain the Scorpion (which I believe is at least 90% as good as any other exhasut out there) was money well spent for a superior exhaust design.
