Drivetrain Your MCS exhaust reference thread. Videos. Sound clips. etc
Thinking of getting a custom exhaust on my R53 S and wanted some opinions on how i should proceed.
Thinking of doing a one muffler setup with a magnaflow exhaust kind of like the dinan setup.
Anybody here tried that? I have searched and found couple of sound clips on custom jobs but not much. hoping the muffler guy can do a good mandrel bend. Plus should i get a resonator or not?
Feedback Appreciated. Thanx NAMers

Here is a clip of my 05' MCS with stock exhaust midpipe leading to a supertrapp muffler and a homemade CAI.

borla sound at idle
I have a Borla Street on my 04 MCS. The running sound is good but at idle (~800 rpm) it has a putt-putt sound that's driving me crazy. Anything over 1000 rpm and it disappears. There is no idle adjustment since it's all controlled by the ECU. The dealer had no suggestions. Otherwise it runs fine.
The engine is modified to something above Works specs.
anyone else experience this?

No idea....but if you have no clue what is on your MINI I would suggest taking it to the dealer and have them find all the aftermarket parts...that would scare me!

You won't regret it. I've got it on my S now, and absolutely love it. It grabs a lot of attention, but also isn't much different than stock (at idle).

I haven't heard the milltek, so I can't comment. However, there is a slight drone for me on the highway, but I also have a RSD kit... If you cruise with the windows down, it is not a problem at all. Windows up....is another story, but nothing horrible.
Those are some great sound clips of the Invidia. I put mine on in May and have been loving it ever since. Plus my car is Hyper Blue so it matches my paint perfectly. Very good job on recording it.

I scrolled back to around posting #295 - #300 and found some discussion of the Coast to Coast titanium cat back system. I saw the photos and listened to the sound clip. Has anyone out there purchased one of these systems and have any personal observations or comments on quality, hp, torque, ease of installation / fitment, etc. I would like to hear what the talk on the street is. At 15 pounds, that's one light system. KFD
