Fantastic, I have an auto and wouldn't mind a mild bump with out getting crazy about it. Can't wait to hear more!

i hope what you're saying here is that you guys will be able to remap the flash file so the tranny can properly "handle" the increased torque.

We're not offering flash tuning and with piggyback tuning it won't be an issue.

Then today when I went to pick up my MINI, I pushed my clutch in and it felt like it was heavy as hell! Leaving Terry's I think I rev'd the **** outta it before I found the catch point. Took a bit of a drive to find my catch points again. Embarrassing again!

Anyways, driving home felt rather bland, 80 feels like the MINI has to work hard to maintain while the tune makes 80 feel like a walk in the park.
The OEM clutch in my 07 is heavy too. I had a Clubman loaner a year ago and the clutch was super soft. Felt like I almost mashed my foot through the floorboard.

My car also has the mechanical factory LSD.

terry,
i'm not terribly well versed in the different styles of tuning. can you elaborate why this won't be an issue with piggyback tuning, but would be with flash tuning?

Flash tuning is all about finding the proper tables to perform certain tuning objectives. For example if you want to run 300# of torque instead of 200# of torque you need to find every table that references torque and adjust it to match. Or things won't work right. Piggyback tuning is all about finding the proper way to manipulate sensor inputs to achieve the desired tuning goals. Which has its own special challenges (that we've made a nice business of solving), but fortunately torque limiter table mismatches is not something that is even an issue for piggyback tuning.

My clutch was very heavy right before it wore out. Got it replaced and it was a light as a feather.

so i take it that a/t's will be ready to rip once testing is completed? that'd be the best news I've heard since I purchased my mini 2 yrs ago.

Also just confirmed that the brake sensor update will rewrite the whole ECU so I can return to stock when this releases.

Was able to hit the dyno today with our test sled and the JB+ put up impressive numbers as expected. Fuel was 93 octane and temps were in the low 90s. Hit the 20whp & 30wtq+ figures on the nose.

So those of us with intake, downpipe, exhaust and larger intercooler can expect to see slightly higher gains?

Are the MINI_S_Factory #'s your stock baseline #'s? Just curious because that is way higher than any others baseline #'s that I have seen.

That was the best of 3 stock runs. Lowest was 188rw IIRC. The power delta between stock and tuned is the main thing to look at as all dynos will read differently.

Soon. First thing I need though is a handful of local test cars. If anyone is within driving distance of Simi Valley and is interested just email me.

Thanks. I understand that the difference between the baseline and tuned numbers are what is important but some people are going to see 255 torque and think thats what they have when they buy this. 30 torque over stock wont be anywhere near 255.

For comparison mine baselined at 172 hp and 184 torque on a dynojet. Thats 21 hp and 33 torque less than you showed. I know different dynos at different times will read different but that is a huge difference.

That's mighty impressive to see such uniform gains across the entire power band. Well played. Sign me up as soon as these become available.

He reports no tuning issues at all with it. Thinks the gains feel impressive for the cost & ease of install. So far, so good.

So it is essential the same as the one for the manuals without any issues? Great. Thanks
