Trouble finding the right brakes for 08 S?

I have been trying to find some good pads to replace the stock ones on my MCS and have yet to find some place that has the right ones. I had EBC that came with my car, you can find a link to the sales thread here. All of the pads I have found are the same as those and the ones on my car don't have the same shaped tab to hook into the caliper carrier. I have talked to Tire Rack and local parts stores but none of them can verify if I am getting the right part or not without me ordering, paying for, and being delivered whatever their system tells me is right. Which is how I got the pads I have now...

Does anyone know what the proper part numbers for EBC redstuff or Hawk HPS pads are?

I'm autocrossing a lot, I entered the national tour in Texas and the upcoming Pro Solo near Dallas and want to replace them before the Dallas event.

You could just order them from www.waymotorworks.com. His stuff delivers super fast, and he has lots of different pads.

I actually just found that site searching another area of the site. If the images he has for the R56 pads are accurate, then he has what I need.

I ordered some EBC green stuffs from him a couple months ago and they were right.

Just scooped up the EBC yellows and some Zimmerman rotors. Now maybe I'll be able to stop!

Not true. I got some cheapos at Pepboys to get me through the weekend and it's almost as if there's air in the lines because I step on the brakes and the car slows, I step harder and the car doesn't slow faster.

Besides, there were some places at the tour in College Station where even the HS guys were having to brake and they are on Hoosiers. I'm running the stock runflats until the disintegrate and then upgrading to some RS-3s, those runflats won't take that kind of abuse, they just plow.

Order pads for an '09 and you will get the right stuff. During '07-'08, the MCS had two different engines (hard top vs. convertible - two different chassis) and in '09 everything became the same for the brakes.

So do most of your guys do your own brake pad replacements? Do you have to bleed the brake line or can you just depress the calipers and put the new pads in?

I got Carbotech Street and I love it. Same peddle feel and stopping power with 1/4 of the dust. Carbotech brake dust is so easy to remove... unlike the OEM ones which I still have on my rear.

Many people do their own brakes. You don't have to bleed the brakes to replace pads and rotors, you can just push the calipers back.

FYI I looked at the pics of the pads that started this thread and those pads came from stock that was over 5yrs old however he got them only the person that he got them from knows.

This would explain a lot. I went to local stores, ordered the parts (and pre-paid since they were special order) and still received the wrong pads. Luckily I was able to return them since they really weren't the right stuff.

Unfortunately, I still have those EBC red/greenstuff pads I need to do something with. I somehow managed to randomly select the pads that don't have the sensor slot in them, the others do.

So what aftermarket pads out there have the slot for the MINI brake pad sensor? According to a review on Tire Rack for Akebono ceramic pads, these will not fit the MINI sensor.

Akebono makes ceramic pads that fit the Mini sensors because I have them on my car right now. 20,000 miles and still stopping great! And virtually dust free too. I love 'em.
