Drivetrain Video comparison: Stock exhaust vs. one ball
Video comparison: Stock exhaust vs. one ball
I just had the one ball mod done on my '05 MCS. I did a before and after video and posted on youtube for those that are interested. There are several one ball mod clips floating around, but since I couldn't find a comparison I thought this might help some.

Enjoy.
Edit - I put together a short video of the garage installing the mod as well

There isn't any droning at highway speeds. It's louder by a bit, and the tone is also deeper. The burble and pops are much more pronounced and it seems to do it more than it did when stock.

Bredto,
You're obviously a creative guy to come up with a smooth video on the one ball mod, but I cringed when I saw the use of a sawzall on overhead metal piping without any eye protection. For those that care about it, a sliver of metal that you can barely see with the naked eye can be enough to ruin your day. It's not worth the trip to the ER or opthamologist, especially when safety glasses are so cheap.
Sorry if anyone thinks I'm playing nanny, I've worked commercial nuclear power for 27 years and that comes with a focus on safety.

I'm 100% with you! That wasn't me working on the car (not sure if you were implying that). When I saw him cutting though rusty metal without eye protection, I cringed. He was a young guy and I hope if he stays in the repair business he'll wise up and get some protective glasses!
An increase in something? Well it is louder, b
ut I assume you mean power. I haven't really pushed it so I can't say for sure, but I'd imagine you're not going to get more than a couple HP gain. Not really something you'll notice. The deeper sound and increase off throttle pops definitely remind you it's not stock.

I did notice an increase... in burbles and pops coming from the tailpipe! Actually, I'm guessing you're talking about power and I haven't pushed it enough to tell a difference. From what I've read most aftermarket catback exhaust won't make more than 5-10HP. I'm guessing I picked up a couple horses tops. The driving experience is much more a visceral thing. Hearing the exhaust growl, supercharger whine and intake whoosh is addictive when you get on it!
For less than $100, if you're considering an exhaust, it's a great place to start.
