A little more? THe JCW kit IS $5500-6000 depending on the dealer.

You sure about that J?

We're not talking about the SS line that loops in a coil (against the firewall) in 'stills' near the start of this thread. We're looking at the now relocated OE coolant tank. In the video its got SS hose attached.

Jlm: That connection to the coolant tank, can you explain how it is oil to the turbo bearingsthat needs this connection. I'm not that sure.

Fix no.. help yes.. and if it is too bad then I personally will just add a dual stage boost controller.

Thanks Jlm.
Does anyone know or have an idea why there is a tube coming from the coolant tank.

Did anyone notice a connection to the coolant tank (stainless tubing)? Maybe we have little help to keep the heat from building up caused by the turbo..
Though that doesn't sound correct because the water in a Mini s is 190 degrees

huh.
They all have that tube. SPI just used a braided tube as a replacement...probably just as a dress-up.

I know there is work on selling this "kit." Prices seem to be saying 5k to 10k. Just wondering how much fabrication is necessary to do this yourself????

I mean the garret t20 is 1500. There is also one on ebay for reg coopers selling total package for 2000.

Helix/Psi-Fi TurboKompressor(twincharged)kit preliminary specs...

We are really making headway with the kit and are a go for production(all jigs etc are done and ready to go) here are some preliminary specs of the kit:

-Garrett GT28rs disco potato turbo 360hp potential
-cast exhaust manifold w / 5 year warranty
-Helix increased diameter pulley to lower S/C boost and parasitic drag and increase turbo charger boost.
-stainless steel 2.5 inch downpipe with integral 300 cell metal matrix cat.** this DP can be flanged at a full 2.5 inch or tapered to 2.25 to match the factory exhaust.
-custom silicone charge pipe
-cowl induction cold air intake system
-Turbosmart eboost boost contoller/boost gauge and pod
-Turbosmart BOV
-Psi-Fi Powerpaq engine management (fuel/timing/aquamist controller) w/ street and race maps
-500 cc direct drop in injectors
-Porsche quality fastening hardware
-all lines and fittings
-Aquamist water/alcohol injection ***Optional(lowers charge air temps approx 30 degrees F and allows 2 more psi boost on pump gas)***
-2.5 inch high flow exhaust system ***optional in testing, will have before and after dyno data vs stock exhaust***
-Depends diaper for the initial test drive

we will have both dyno and track #'s up very soon...Keep your eyes peeled for pics of the installed kit in the next few days

Any interest please contact Eric at Helix as he will be handling all orders and installs.

A really dumb question...

is this sytem designed to replace the supercharger or augment it, i.e. I've heard of cars with turbos and cars with SC's but not both

So we are going to have two different companies offering "Twincharged" systems? SPI and Psi-Fi/Helix? That would be good news for us buyers anyway....
