Will a 2005 exhaust fit a 2003?

I have some problems with my exhuast. I found a cheap used 2005 in way better shape. Would rather put that on then spend the $600+ on a performance one. Any reason It won't just bolt right up?

Yes it will fit. You will just have to swap out the hangers from your old exhaust to the newer one. A few bolts and you are done. No welding needed.

When you say the hangers, do you mean the ones that bolt up to the bottom of the car or the the ones that wrap around the exhaust and attach to the rubber hangers.

It comes with the brackets that wrap around the muffler/resonator, and has the two hangers/rods that branch off of those. But doesn't come with anything else.

I believe he's talking about the straps around the mufflers. Apparently they reversed direction (point the opposite way) in 2005. You'll need to swap out the hangers from your current exhaust so they face the right way.

Be prepared to purchase new hangers because the old stock hangers are probably rusted and will not come off easy and you probably will not want to reuse the hangers.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I think this is better than creating a new one for virtually the same question..
Only difference is:

I'm looking to buy a 2005 JCW exhaust system off of a 2005, for my 2003. Are there any differences swapping a JCW 2005 exhaust to a 2003, besides the hangers? Is that upgrade worth it? I mean, I'd rather get an aftermarket exhaust but I'd be buying from a guy on Craigslist, that has no idea what JCW is, so he has the whole system up for $100. Thanks guys!

Looking at it, it kind of looks like the JCW tips are the only JCW thing about it, as well. Can someone confirm? Thanks!

That's a picture of a factory R53 exhaust with different tips. NOT a JCW exhaust.

^^^ Likely so (depending how old the donor Milltek system), however you'd need the "other" pair of rear muffler/silencer hanger rods Milltek furnishes with their R53 systems. By that, Milltek welds brackets with threaded studs to the inside points on those with one set of furnished hanger rods attached to those being for pre-facelift R53 and the other set being for facelift such as on that '05 R53 (and my own '06 R53). Check that donor system to confirm same as shown on Milltek's website. I kept the unused set of pre-facelift hanger rods which I could ship for cost of postage plus some $$ covering time and hassle-factor. Also have some OEM hangers currently advertised in forum classifieds.

Edit: add'l pics added if clarification is needed: 1st one shows Milltek with rods and hangers ready to install and 2nd one the unused hanger rods for pre-facelift R53 such as your 2002.

Milltek R53 exhaust systems and parts

Also noting, ECS Tuning sells the set of hanger rods:

Hey MCS4FUN, how do you like the Milltek exhaust. Did you get resonated or non (I think I see a resonator tucked in there but am not sure).
