Bought one the other day. Got a couple more questions though. If I install the stage 3 take it to a dyn have it dynoed, will you guys tweak the tune? And my other question is does the AP work for base Coopers? I don't have one but just wondering. Thanks

No AP for Justas' AFIK. If your tuner has the protune software for the cobb they will tweak the existing map.

If you put your car on a dyno, we're not going to be able to tune it unless we are there.

The AccessPORT does not work on base Coopers, just the MCS and JCW.

Hey Chris (thanks for the email support) and Adam - I finally (due to my own lack of time) got the beta software to work with my '11 JCW - uploaded Stage 1 91oct tps map and it runs amazing. Your TPS program is smoother and better than the stock JCW Sport mode. Love it. Thanks!

Yes! Obviously a lot more power too - that is clearly noticeable. Thanks!

If I have a JCW tune with the JCW CAI and JCW exhaust, can I run a stage 2 tune without negatively effecting the car?

Rockridge,

For your car, you will have to run a stage 1 tune. Stage 2 is for a car with a 2.5" catless exhaust, or 3" high flow cat turbo back car.

Chris,

What will happen to a car that is running a higher tune than it is equipped for?

Dave

Dave, it could cause excessive wear on the engine, turbo and cats. Definitely not something you want to do!

After much reading (ok, maybe not), I'm ready to get one. I don't have any engine mods but will do so within the next few months. Would I be okay running the AP with just stock engine for now?

Thank you.

Wait I thought the JCW factory exhaust was 2.5" and high flow. If not looks like I will not be able to run stage 3. I will also have a catless DP.

60mm is 2.3 inches. That's pretty small. The stage 2 map is for a turbo back exhaust only. If you're looking for more power than our maps provide, you can always get a protune.

The stage 1 maps are made specifically for a car that is stock, or with basic bolt on parts, so you will be totally fine.

The stock cats are not high flow cats. The only way to run a stage 2 map is by running a catless turbo back 2.5" or 3" high flow cat turbo back exhaust. If you have any stock exhaust parts after the turbo, you have to run a stage 1 map.

So a 2.5" catless downpipe back won't qualify for stage 2?

2.5" catless turbo back can run a stage 2 map.

If you're running the stock JCW exhaust, then you have a cat. The JCW and MCS exhaust sizes are the same, about 2.25". So to run a stage 2 map, again, you have to have a 3" turbo back with a high flow cat, or a 2.5" turbo back with no cats.

so the only thing you would need to do is, replace the cats on a jcw factory exhaust to get to stage 2?

is that just a downpipe basically?

Dez,

To run a stage 2 map, you need a 2.5" turbo back exhaust with no cats.

The stock JCW exhaust is not 2.5". You have to go with an aftermarket turboback exhaust.

Any turbo back that is a 2.5" that is catless can use a stage 2 tune. But it has to replace the whole exhaust. If there's any OEM downpipe or catback exhaust parts being used, a stage 1 is required.
Just in case people STILL DON'T get the idea or understand.....here you go, made it easy for everyone.
