Drivetrain The Official ALTA AccessPORT Thread
So does that calculated data have any accuracy or is it useless?
I'm outta da loop - what is "B&P"?
I saw 19.9 lbs. boost this morning, the car held it for several seconds. Those were *memorable* seconds... This car is making just the right amount of power for my suspension setup. I think the car would handle quite bit better if I lowered it anor so. I'd have to do my math up-front since I put on non-standard size tires. The new tires are .47 inches taller. So, a 1 inch drop would effctively be a 1.5 inch drop with the taller tires. Or do I cut the .47 inch figure in half and go with that?
Any help is greatly appreciated!!
Thanks,

Two questions for Chris at Alta,
1. I wsa hit on the highway last week and totaled my R56 in a 2X rollover crash. If I can not conncet to my ECU with my AP, can it be reset to communicate with the new car.
2. I am going to replae it with an '11 JCW [if U can find one] or wait for he '12 JCW. Is the AP accessible for either of these?
Thanks,
John

Not sure re: question #1, but re: #2 - I have an '11 JCW and it works with it. And it should work with the '12 JCW as it has been pretty much confirmed that the '12 JCW will have the same engine per some other threads on the boards.

The AccessPORT will need to be reset to work on a new car. We can do this for a small fee with proof that the car was totaled.
The AccessPORT is compatible with the 2011 JCW, not yet with the 2012, we will have to wait until it comes out to see if it's any different.
The AccessPORT does not yet work on the 2011 MCS. The AccessPORT does work on the 2011 factory JCW though.
Thanks for the information regarding the AP reset. I was able to access the ECU and unistall it from the car. I did hear from thebody shop and they estimated the high side of 17K plus the engine has hydro-locked so Nigel is was murdered. I will be going for 2012 JCW as I havenot found a 2011 JCW that I like.
Thanks for all the well wishes. I will post pictures soon.

Is this the same as buying a copy of the AccessTuner Pro software?
Yes.
Stock DP (with cat) with a 2.5" catback exhaust with no resonator or cat.
Same as above, but with an aftermarket DP using a high flow cat, such as the Akrapovic.
What stage would you recommend for each of those setups?
Any setup using the stock cats require a stage 1 tune.
Any exhaust that has a cat but is less than 3" requires a stage 1 tune.
Any exhaust that is 3" either it being catless or high flow cat can use a stage 2 tune.
Any turbo back that is a 2.5" that is catless can use a stage 2 tune. But it has to replace the whole exhaust. If there's any OEM downpipe or catback exhaust parts being used, a stage 1 is required.

I have the good map(Stage 1 tps w/ intercooler 92+ octane), that Jeff emailed me, but for the future updates im screwed as the AP won't update itself with maps. When i first received the AP, by following the directions, i only got stage 0, stage 1 91 octane, and stage 3 maps(just 3 of those maps). The manager shows me the update process and that its been completed but no new maps. I went through different steops that you guys gave me but no luck with that either.
