Also, I'm experiencing the wandering idle on the Stage 1 MCS.

Do you guys still want data logs? If so how do we send those to you?

Claus
YES we do want the datalogs. Contact ALTA_Chris on NAM or Chris.Cone@ALTAPerformance.com or call us and we can walk you through it.

Or CLICK HERE for a step by step guide to Data Logging

Thanks!

The pop and burble is something that is programmed into JCW and we are not able to replicate this to the same degree as JCW comes programmed. This isn't just a map in the JCW ECU that is different, it's a plethora of maps and logic that is different.

The way we have replicated this causes drivability issues in some instances, and we don't feel that it is perfected yet. As we have mentioned before, we have replicated it by retarding the timing a lot in the timing maps, which causes a backfire, but during certain driving conditions, this retarded timing causes poor drivability. This happens at light loads when you start to get back on the gas.

This is not something that is going to apply to automatic customers as there's no lifting of the throttle to shift like on a manual car.

We haven't forgotten about the pop and burble, but this will require a lot more effort than just some timing changes in the map, that's why it's taking so long, sorry!

Makes perfect sense to me. Thanks for the continued effort.

Did any of you all break in your car with the AccessPort on there, or did you all buy the AccessPort after break-in?

Got a 2011 JCW on order. But I might not be too gentle with break in anyway. I'm not firm believer that gentle break in makes the engine any more reliable, and lean towards driving it hard during break in makes for a stronger engine.

I've done it once on my triumph daytona 675 and I've ridden it a few time as a passenger in my buddies new M3 and a 3 sedan.

The Mini did pretty damn good. I didn't know the GP part of the circuit was going to be open that day. Ran a 11:56 total, pretty respectable. I got hung up behind an Audi TT and another Mini that someone decked out with a rollcage and all.

My JCW is bone stock besides th AP running Stage 1. I've ran 5.5 0-60 with the run flats. Going to be putting on the Akropovic exhaust, front/rear sway bar, an possibly new shocks and springs as soon as I sell my bike in a couple of weeks.

I'm registered to take th Mini to Francorchamps in a couple of months. Hopefully I will have everything installed by then
Sounds like a blast! Glad to hear the JCW ran well, and with a bone stock suspension no less. You'd be turning some really impressive times on better tires and some coilovers!

Well, I do have the sport suspension. I couldn't get the JCW, because I ordered mine through the MINI Military Sales and I guess their dealership wasn't equipped to install it or the JCW aero kit :( Would have gladly paid for both.

Hopefully, I will be adding some better suspension and tires soon. Just have to sell off my Triumph so the wife doesn't kill me for spending more money!

Here are a few things I am looking answers to:

Fuel options in tunes - Is or does alta have any sort of 100octane tunes? We all 100octane could yield around 20whp on our cars if tuned for it. Also E85, E85 creates a lot more power than 91 does as well and would be nice to have the option for.

Water/Meth - You offer a water meth kit on your site, do you offer the tuning to go with it or some sort of solution? Throwing a W/M kit on a car with 0 tuning is pretty much pointless.

These are some things I would love to see in the AP Alta offers.

Boosted,

We don't have 100 octane or E85 tunes. There are a growing amount of tuners in the US that can do that though!

We don't have a meth kit tune either, but we can make a decent tune having you send datalogs to us. The best solution would be to get a custom tune on a dyno though.

Where do you live?

I live in Utah.. I have like no idea who to go to for tuning. I know Jim Conforti lives like 40 mins from me, but i dont know what he does as far as R56 tuning.

I have yet to see anyone locally who can dyno tune my mini. Which has led me to wanting such a tool like the accessport. Obviously being at 4500ft a dyno tune would give me the greatest gains, etc. Sounds like jan is the only one who can do that.

If you where I can get a decent tune with 500 miles of me I would be quite happy. Almost temps me to drive up to oregon and have you guys tune it hahaha.

I would love to have an E85 and a 100 octane tune on my car as i do a lot of track days and 100 octane would rock and E85 is growing quite popular.
