Cam + 440cc/380cc injectors + tune

Did anyone here do this to a stock headed Cooper S? What power did you gain after adding those mods to your usual mods(pulley, header,ic,exhaust)? Can you feel much of a difference?

it damned well does, doesn't it.

I've a Works Cooper, without the larger injectors but with the tweaked head and such, and Dynojet 170 at the wheels, which I am told is about par for the course.

I'm jealous!

Cheers,

Charlie

I just added the RMW cam and 380 injectors, and there is a huge difference in power. I can't wait till Jan gives my MINI a tune! BTW I have the stock head, header, and exhaust.

I just installed an RMW cam yesterday and noticed a nice improvement. I'm waiting until Jan comes back to town to install a set of 450's just before he tunes it. Money well spent. I can't wait to feel the improvement after the injectors and re-tune! It's going to be sometime this month.

It all depends on where you want the power at. Some have the power come on early (RMW) and others don't come on till farther into the rpms

I'm very pleased with my RMW cam. It really woke my car up in the mid range RPM's. Like previously stated, you need to chose your cam to fit your driving needs. I don't track my car and rarely drive and stay in high RPM range so the street cam works well for me. If you're tracking your car and always keep the car above 5000 RPM then you should match the cam for that power range.

our street cam will outperform the schrick in the low and midrange rpms

our race cams will outperform the schrick everywhere but will NOT run on a stock tune

the NS cams are "small" cams

here is the NS cam over a stock cam and it's MUCH smaller than our STREET/TQ cam............. much marketing hype out there
Just because it's "advertised" as a 264/272 you can see it's MUCH SMALLER than our 246 street cam

OUR RACE CAMS ARE MUCH MUCH BIGGER THAN THESE CAMS..........

I have yet to see a drag racing record with this cam but there is always a first..........right?

area under the curve is always desireable

This thread deserves a sticky. Thank you RMW for posting this chart!

Yes, this is my first post... I got my mini last month and have been doing research before asking the same questions over and over again

Newbs - Thanks - almost stock - the only thing missing is a new head Rotrex and a meth kit

Edit - I guess that does make it almost stock

I have a RMW cam, RMW 450 injectors, and an RMW tune by Jan the man himself. It's VERY worth it, IMO.
The engine roars so much more now, that it drowns out the supercharger. Though that's probably because I replaced the header/cat with the RMW. I'll need a retune at some point when Jan returns to the northeast.

But to your question, yes, you can definitely feel the difference. As much as I try not to, I always mash the throttle whenever I see that no one is around. lol

Hype is what hype will always be, cams are always more than the sum of their parts/lifts and durations.
Study, study, study.
Don't be duped by any company, talk to everyone and sort out what you've heard before making a choice.
An tune after a cam install will always make it shine better.

RMW street cam

Check my dyno charts on this thread:

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...te=1&p=3129340

Posts 11 and 16. Very good performance bump. Only change is cam. Same dyno and similar conditions.

Frankly, having driven an R53 similar to mine with the track cam, I'd go with it for the same price.

I've found NO downside to the street cam.
