Mine sure did! Before tune, the 3" cat-bac would sorta growl when accelerating. Now it howls up to ~3K and really roars above that! On back off, it's just one big BAH-WAAAH with a great WHUMP from the BOV. I'm liking it a LOT!

As for the quicker turbo spool-up, I definitely agree. Before tune, I was seeing -10.1PSI boost at idle on a fully warmed engine. Now it's showing -8.8-9.0PSI. To me this indicates the turbo is already starting to spool, even at idle.

Installed the software from Jan's link on a Win XP-powered laptop with zero issues (never touched the stuff on the included thumb drive). Configured the tool, plugged it in, everything worked basically as outlined in the PDF. Took all of about two minutes to read from the ECU.

Downloaded fpf file is only 57K ... is that right?

My baseline dyno on the stock tune was 176.0 WHP and 217.2 lb/ft of TQ. After about 10-12 pulls Jan got it up to 204.9 WHP and 233.3 lb/ft TQ. He said the first pull was 209 HP when it was cold, so I'm VERY happy with 205 after so much heat gain.

My engine is totally stock with a JCW inlet pipe and JCW factory rear muffler only.
WOW lucky you!!! My car is really weird. I got my car dyno tuned at his place on 3/24/10.

Poor Jan spent hours on the Dyno. Mine has the lowest stock numbers that he ever seen. My baseline dyno was at 150.0.0 WHP and 182.3 lb/ft of TQ and it was pinging. It was running lean, but after he did his magic, it's at 189.7 WHP and 210.5 lb/ft of TQ.

After the tune, I seafoamed my engine and it feels a lot different now. I also installed an oil catch can too. It's running very strong and sound amazing. I need an exhaust system now. I'm very disapointed in my car, but I'm happy that Jan made it so much better now. It gained 51.7 WHP at 6000RPM

Thanks Jan Can't wait to get a copy of the stock and tuned files on my flasher.

I seafoamed my car a week before and the day of the dyno, it really does smooth everything out quite a bit! Scottab36 did a dyno pull after doing a couple seafoam treatments and had some gains, so I wouldn't be surprised if you've gained a few HP back. Maybe this is why he thought it was one of the stronger stock ones he's tuned.

Jan also said my car was running in 'closed loop' before getting it tuned. Not exactly sure what he meant.

I wish that I knew about seafoam before I took my car there.

Could be worse. You could have to wait several months for it.

Interesting you mention that. My car is about to be set on a voyage across the vast Atlantic Ocean. I'll be without my Mini for 6 to 8 weeks!

Going on month number 5 without my Mini Oh well. All the parts I'm buying now will give me a reason to have some quality time with her when I get back.

When Jan did my tune, he said I wouldn't need the Sport button anymore. That's certainly the case for throttle response, but forgot to ask about the steering feel change that button makes. Tried it on/off and don't really notice any difference. Anybody know for sure?

Throttle response after the tune is so instantaneous that Sport is unnecessary for "normal" driving, and in fact is just too sensitive for around town. Non-sport mode is like how sport mode used to be, and Sport mode is like hyper-Sport mode!

The changes in steering feel between Sport and non-Sport are unaffected by the tune and still operate as it did prior to the tune.
